1% of the population pay 30% of the tax as someone posted earlier ,does this not show how bad the bias of our economy is, we have two extremes in pay that causes this ,one far to much and the other minimum wage. NO one is worth multi million pound wages +bonus and no one should have to work for wages that need topping up with benefits just to get by

skier if the lower paid and allowed to keep a decent amount of money say the living wage then that would take millions of people off benifits

I agree with putting back in peoples pockets to spend and boost the economy,but surely the best way would be to take all the lower paid people out of paying tax at all by increasing the allowance before paying tax, as these are the people who will spend it in our economy instead of those who will take it out of the economy in off shore tax havens

I do think the BOE sat on there hands far too long so another big rate increase is due ,very much panic mode but too higher rate will do as much damage as whats been done letting the rate stay so low so long ,just hope they keep their eyes on the ball

Andrew Bailey was far too slow to raise interest rates,they should have never have been dropped so low ,it created a false economy based on very cheap money, hence the panic now

we are very good at shooting ourselves in the foot,after looking so pathetic with the Brexit situation with May in charge,we then get a prime minister who stepped up to the plate then covid came along and again stepped up to the plate, then Russia through its weight around where it would have ended who knows,he again stood up to the plate what do we do , sack him,will we ever learn.
