TheBasher is correct to a point, but he is not on large transactions above the Exchange Market Size, so with KOD for example …the MM will take all sells / buys electronically below 3m shares per transaction.

So for larger orders like the one that was published at 16.29 yesterday they would look for buyers through the day to fill their sell order. If the order was not completely filled yesterday, the MM might still have it on his books for a few days depending on how big the order is to fill.

MM are a little like bookmaker they just make a book they take difference between the buyer & seller leaving them with a profit.
