Seems to tie in well with NI energy strategy

For Scenario 3a, a large-scale hydrogen production plant is located to the Northeast of Belfast. This location is chosen as it is near the gas and electricity transmission interconnectors with GB, it is near a likely connection point for future offshore wind farms in the north Irish Sea, it is near the Islandmagee salt cavern facility, which could be used for hydrogen storage, and it is near Belfast. The plant produces hydrogen for a refuelling station in Belfast in 2030, which supplies buses, trucks, and trains in the area. The hydrogen is transported by tube trailer to the station, which is located 30km from the production plant.

Obviously it is just a debate I have no idea on what the way forward regarding CS emissions are.

Just i read a lot of new cruise ships are now using LNG could conversions be a good market ?

Just to add it is a teaming agreement the next stage is JV obviously they can’t have that until they have a Venture

Stokey I totally agree with you I have also checked BH site it is not cheap to book a docking slot which is why so many are moored offshore all around our coastline which is why it is baffling me as to why they have .

Afternoon Gents quite happy personally with the update.
The Azura is baffling me a bit as over the weekend done quite a bit of research it does appear that Carnival/P&o like to keep refits quiet until completion for what I reason I couldn’t fathom out.
It also appears that they pre plan the refits 2 years in advance as such Navantia would have all the contractors and materials in place for April 2020 .
We then have the extended stay at Belfast the refits normally take 2/3 weeks so maybe the extended stay at Belfast is incorrect?
Also found that cruise ships have to be dry docked and checked every 5 years. Hopefully we can find answers to the above soon.
In regards to Islandmagee good to see they are actively looking at Hydrogen storage as I feel that is the way forward and salt caverns being one of the best tried and tested ways of storing it. I have posted a few links before on NI Hydrogen as an energy strategy which is currently being looked at after a call for evidence by the NI government and indeed the uk . Given the location in between 2 power stations 1 gas and 1 about to be converted to gas along with a new green energy hub including hydrogen production facilities it could all tie in quite well

Think the Saipem contract as a few posters on here have pointed out is very important to get on top of and started asap

Hi Bubble credit goes to Stokey for finding the fact that Azura is going to H&W for 3+ months .( a very long time )
The refurb could have been started in Newcastle or maybe not happening at all guess we will have to wait for official news on that .

The credit export finance could be a big deal maker ?

‘ What will be a huge boost for the cruise industry will be export credit financing on refurbishment projects, Wood said.

“We have worked closely with the UK government and put a couple schemes together. It’s something the UK government wants to do, is to encourage cruise work, and we’ve got two of the biggest docks in Europe and intend to make Belfast one of the cruise refit centers.”
