It's the most wonderful time of the year...... no not Christmas - it's dry-docking season. When our ferries go into some of Europe's most famous shipyards (Antwerp, Cammell Laird, Harland and Wolff) to get their regular makeovers. This is how we keep them looking so good

Gearing up at Methil

As fabrication and load-out of the 8 wind turbine jacket foundations continues into 2022 our Methil site held a Safety Stand Down. The whole team put down their tools to receive a health and safety briefing in which they were refreshed on practices, policies and expectations.

The team will be working on structures that weigh around 15,000 Tonnes in total and are in the region of 90 metres high

This project will involve working at heights, confined space operations, high levels of fabricating and welding operations, heavy lifts, SPMTS operations and movements around site, crane and forklift operations, blasting and painting operations.

BP with wealth of knowlege like yours i doubt it is immeasurable

FG do not worry too much all the yards are busy till June bar Belfast (which we do not know forward bookings)but they seem to be doing very well.
Regarding placements JW stated they have a credit facility available as any more fund raising via a placement would not be high enough to cover the value of the upcoming contracts.

At 25 GW and perfect locations for our fabrication yards and from what i can find the only company in Scotland currently fabricating jackets for wind turbines surely this is great news.

Hi Stokey with a minimum local requirement of 25% and not that many fabrication yards it could result in a scramble for the winning bidders to book up the yards ASAP ?

Would have thought our best chances of fabrication contracts are 1 to 6 and 14 15 16
