I don't think you have this correct, as far as I understand things it's some of debs suppliers that have had their credtit cover reduced and NOT debs who are ok.

Remember pfd make all the cadbury cakes etc and I would have thought pfd buy their own chocolate direct or through some wholesaler business and maybe even sell it to Burton's.

I totally agree with that but the shorter's seem to have been getting the better of things here over the last few months and as far as they are concerned debs is now dead and their task is finished.
However I think debs are still in control and looking forward for the next few years and the add about taking on a lot more people for Christmas seems to prove that.

If they are close to having an agreement on any asset sale or have one then they should put out an rns asap.

There seems to be so many posters on here who say the bod's can't do this or they can't do that, when most poster's don't know what they are talking about.
The bod's will have all the numbers and If the bod's think they have it all under control and think they will have money comingin from asset sales and think paying out a few quid in divi'd to steady the ship is worth doing then I guess they will do it.
They have given the impression that they are not worried about the sp and maybe they do have it all under control, we will jst have to wait another few weeks to find out. But by NOT paying a divi might cause the sp to drop even more than the cost is worth.

Yes that wouldn't surprise me either, the bod's have made a point that they are not worried about the sp and everything is still going to plan.
So I think they will pay a divi just to prove their point, otherwise if they stop the divi now because of cost and try to save money it almost says the position is worse than they have been making out, and I think it would give the sp a big boost and show confidence.

Do you not think many holders in here are losing thousands of pounds and still reading your stupid posts.

Do you know what it wouldn't surprise me if the Guy from scotish mills is it May that was beaten by MA for HoF, came in with a takeover price for Debs at 15p -25p to try and take this off MA.
Then MA if he really wanted debs would have to come back with a counter bid.
Anything is possible now at this stupid price.

The trouble is now days, the shorter's just don't give a dam about companies staying afloat.
All they are interested in is making a profit by puting companies and staff out of jobs and as long as they make money sod the the rest. shameful, but they will get their come-upance at some stage.

If you remember when debs give out the last rns they said sales in the last few weeks was running ahead and if they continued their profits would increase big time.
So it looks like we are now seeing proof of that. Just need the sp to respond.

2018 result probably about £2,900m
2017 results show total rev £2,954m
2016 results show total rev £2,895m

The total sales including online sales are there it’s just that they need to get the mix better, and don’t buy so much rubbish for Christmas and then sell it at a loss.
So total people are still going to the stores but in a slightly different way and that can be fixed, and once they sell off some assets / overheads it should be better.

which is where it will be in 6 months, then what are you going to do , jump off a building ?

Good morning all, just to let you know that KF must spend lots of his time reading all these posts, I know because he pulled me up by email about 1 hr after I posted.
So I think he knows how everyone feels about what's happened over the last 1-2 years.

So I wonder if pfd are making any own lab products for tesco's new jack stores.

It does sound like both sides want to do a deal, a bit like us and the EU , maybe it's about timing maybe it's about price & payment.Not even convinced that eneo have been fully paid by Cam Gov yet, maybe that's the problem and they won't move forward until they have been fullt paid. All just guess work.
If thtre is some sort of announcement I would have thought the time line for a new contract would be say from 1st of Oct / Nov and hopefully for 5 years

Well it looks like the press and the shorter's have thrown everything they can including the kitchen sink at debs over the last 4 -6 weeks to break it's back and so far failed.I wouldn't have thought there were any more skeletons left in the cuboards to do any more harm . So let's now have a few quiet weeks and let this sp start to go back up.

Yes I was surprised to even get a reply to my question because it was a bit blunt and sarcastic , but then that's what it needs now days. Let's hope we do get some good news very soon..

Can I ask a question, did you work for debs and was fired / layed off / made redundant and then gone through hard times.
If that is a yes then it's happened to many of us in the past and the only way forward is pick yourself up and get another job asap, any job. Because it sounds like you just can not get over it. please tell us more so we can understand.

So maybe it could be next week, who knows.
