Putting a ev car fire out is actually very easy,,, you just need a very big skip filled with water and a crane nearby to dump said ev into it for 48 hours and then it is completely safe ,ive heard the government are looking into skips every 2 miles and a man in a crane just in case of a fire. this cost will simply be added to everyones electric bill or poll tax.obviously not everbody has a driveway big enough for the skips so some will have to share one out in the street.....if the fires get too out of hand then they will just tax lithium at a higher rate,long live the tory government,,

Please dont tell greta thunberg were i live as we have 2 diesel powered cars and will be buying another 1 until ev,s are a lot cheaper and go a lot longer without needing to be charged after 200miles,can get 550 miles from my diseasel.. without trying officer,,thought the speed limit was higher.

And i forgot the cost of the cup of coffee,s whilst you wait in the que to get a charging space then another 30mins for a 100 mile top up as you cant push a flat ev in neutral like a ice engined car,i had a ev and range anxiety in cold weather and being able to use the heater to get enough range to get home so i didnt have to pay 400% more for the fast chargers electricity fee was a good selling point for me anyway.

To add a bit of balance,and yes i am invested here,, did you see the news of people ditching there ev cars as they didnt save anything with the cost of insurance going up to £4600 to insure a tesla... my diesel renewal is £330 fully comp so paying £12.50p occasionally makes sense to me,,maybe in 5 yrs there will be enough charging spaces,as people are now getting angry with oap,s having a 2 or 4 hour charge on there older ev cars. takes me 2 mins to fill mine with pay at pump on a c.card. ow well thats progress-----

COPPER PRICES,,vary a lot 99.9% pure is any where from £5500 ton up to £6500,( london metals market shows upto 8k)is good ,but concentrate/ore as low as 20% goes for as little as $800 a ton, so it depends what percentage and what part of the world its dug up from, a bit like electricity costs 300% more in england than some very poor parts of the world where it is a third of the price.. weird like we can afford it?? someone making the price that high because they can.. mmm,next we will be saying opec is restricting the amount of oil it pumps out of the ground to keep prices high.

Is there any information on evraz on here or is it just a political debate?? no one likes to pay tax,s,and both of my cars have to pay £12.50 ulez,having recently travelled into the zone,both days were free as the cameras had all been disabled,, but the fact is we need to lower co /chemical levels and we all knew this tax was coming,if i lived there i would only have to buy a euro4 petrol at say £3k ( minus the trade in value for a diesel/petrol non ulez vehicle) and save the £4562 yearly fee ,that would make up for the 15% extra cost of lower mpg from a petrol v diesel vehicle, this will eventually roll out to every big city,we were over the eu recommended air quality limit before covid,the level fell a lot when we stopped useing our cars ,so there is no arguing with the data.

Dont forget the benefit of reduced electricity costs as well when useing qbt software,i forget the amount,around 3%?? if your useing a 100 machines 24/7 then thats got to help.

Agree with you,but if you are paying £6 for a 6 hour shift( seen £4 for ten hours) then trebling the shifts with the same output per shift could be a 400/500% increase in profits,why they didnt do this before is baffling,its not as if copper isnst wanted or needed they simply had to find a buyer(could of offered a discount for volume/tonnage) and got cheap labor in to get EXPENSIVE copper out of the ground...your other costs wont go up by 300% so a easy win,,
