I received my offer papers almost a fortnight ago. It seems the delay by H/L in submitting the bid docs to their clients (I'm not one) is curious to say the least. On all we know ,surely Messrs K & L might be disappointed at such a delay. Is there a deliberate agenda behind this, one wonders? Does anyone here read anything into the delay? Personally,I'm not accepting the bid as things stand - but others might and ,well , the cut off date is getting nearer. I was pleased to read Sollo's mail re non-submission = default/non vote....any broker acting otherwise would surely be out of order....all interesting stuff.
I date back to those heady Kazakhmys days,2008 and 2011..Sollo. Whilst I don't precisely remember the numbers,I definitely recall some nice transactions back then. Never made a loss on Kaz - which is more than I can say for certain others, eg. I invested in Bradford/Bingley then 2 weeks later it ceased to exist. Ah well,as they say, some you win some you lose. Meanwhile,Kaz is looking very good to me. I'm still holding a few k shares bought far cheaper than even the "640 Offer".
Hi Bottled, received my letter a week ago. Since when it's been consigned to the back of the top drawer. I'll only give it serious consideration if the share price falls to 780 or thereabouts when we reach the cut-off date. Not looking likely.
Have a nice weekend
OJB
Sollo,re previous message, forgot the decimal points! Ha ha.
Sollo, Welcome anoard this BB. Yeah,I remember fluctuations between £300 and £1200 (did we really hit £15?)...I have always enjoyed the excitement of this volatile share. Have always done well with Kaz,recall a couple of nice 4 baggers. Iwill be happy if trading in this share continues.Be lucky,OJB.

Good hit,Shakhtar. Well, there we are then. If Nova wishes to further revise their bid,it must be north of the SP de jour, otherwise we could all get a better price in free trade. Today's news bulletins on copper should presumably concentrate the Nova minds as to whether to proceed.....
Yeah,it seems that the current offer is muddying the water...price would be some 10%+ otherwise.
As things stand,I'm hanging on to my holding ; no point in agreeing to sell . GLA
This has been hovering around 800 all day. Does that suggest the 780 bid may be successful?
Kaz has always been a volatile share and I, for one, have enjoyed the adventure . I'll be sorry to see it go. If indeed it does go.
I totally agree with Shakhtar's post of this afternoon ,also his posts of yesterday.
A bid in the mid 800s now seems plausible. I would accept a bid of 900 for my holdings but anything below the early 800s would be decidedly unattractive and I would vote against it. Tomorrow is now not far away. Fingers crossed for a favourable solution. Good luck to all holders. OJB
Bakered, whoops previous attempt to mail cut out.
As I see it they can only compulsorily require us all to sell our holdings if and when a takeover bid is agreed covering the required percentage( see Bottled's mail, below). . As things stand that should not be the 640; no holder in their right mind (pi or ii) would agree to that .
Once a bid is made AND agreed - one would assume somewhat north of the current SP -then KAZ as we know it will cease to be available to trade and we will have to surrender our shares at the agreed price...I would expect that to be above 800. Meanwhile trading still going on as before.
I am only just returning to the swing of thing s
Good luck,OJB
Bottled - thanks for your helpful reply. I still hold a few k of Kaz and will continue to do so,at least until Feb 4.
Bakered...
Hi Bottled and all. I used to post frequently here having enjoyed trading Kaz with some success. Now trying to catch up with recent posts. Shakhtar's explanation of 14 jJan covers things well . Just a few questions...is there a time frame for any
offer (presumably a revised one) to be made ? If Mr Kim & Co decide to kick the can down the road, would they tell us so?
If an offer is made and accepted are we shareholders automatically required to sell directly to the new owner without the participation of a broker?
Forgive the naivety of my questions; I've been out of touch for a couple of years and have not faced a potential takeover scenario before. If you or anyone can guide me,my thanks in advance. OJB.
I've just read that Chartist has been given an exclusion order. Oh,come on. He is neither a ramper or deramper - imho - and his contributions have been pleasantly presented ,whatever your opinions on chartism. I personally don't subscribe to charts as they tell the story-up-to-now ....ie they cannot predict world politiics and developments, the uncertain complications of brexit, and next month's copper prices.
I tend to look on the BB as a bunch of people with a common interest chatting in a pub,if you will. If that were so,Chartist would have always been a welcome member of the club. Let's face it, none of us here knows what the future holds. Chartism won't change a thing...but generally interesting reading.
Who saw fit to have him banned? His charts didn't forward the frontiers of KAZ knowledge but that's similar for most of us here. We ,the peeps, are in the hands of other, bigger fish.
As for me,I say, reinstate Chartist 2 promptly. He has an enthusiasm about this share.
Good luck to you all...and tomorrow looks set for a nice little rise.
ps. I refer to Chartist as "him" ,maybe he's "her", I don't know. One has to be PC these days. A bit tiresome, imo.

Following the Christmas Eve chaos,I read that ,at the time of writing, the Dow has gone up some 500 points.
Would anyone care to guess tomorrow's SP ,or tomorrow's FTSE figure?
And,here's one for any amateur bookmakers out there....what odds would you give on (a)Mrs May successfully getting her brexit deal through,(b) KAZ cancelling its contract on the Russian mine, and (c) an imminent impeachment of the US President??
In the event of any of those 3 options, it would surely send our SP rocketing.
lol
Happy new year
OJB
Wishing all holders here a very happy holiday season.
In the words of Scarlett O'Hara....tomorrow is another day....or in our case, next year likewise.
Good cheer to you all,OJB
Yeah,my thoughts entirely.
I am inclined to go for the £5:50,not the £4. From experience,I'm sceptical about broker recommendations but in any event I genuinely expect a rise, not a fall,in our current SP.
Just imho
If you fancy a smile,Harry Worth 's bit of window fun is to be seen on youtube.
All good wishes,OJB
Lol, lol, yes, he was the one. Generally best remembered for that "window" gag. A really nice man....I mentioned him because of his bumbling catchphrase (usually uttered after a calamitous misadventure) "ah well,it could've been worse"....that remark came to mind after or downgrading ....hmmm .. which could've resulted in a worse drop.
I keep aware - but am generally cynical - about such broker downgrades. As often as not, they don't affect the big picture; sometimes I think they're guesswork. I shall remain here until at least £7 but hope for a higher figure. I've been involved here for several years and have seen (and enjoyed) sizeable fluctuations in this bouncy share. Yes,as Chartist says - if they severed that contract with the Russkies,we would be zooming again.....but that surely ain't gonna happen.....but....then again....??
In the words of Harry Worth ... "it could be worse".
How many of you remember Harry Worth....a TV comedian from many years back. For a couple of months he was my next door neighbour during a panto stint at my local theatre. A delightful fellow. And as I say,all things considered, our SP could indeed be worse. And hopefully very soon a lot better. lol.
....or a referendum to decide whether we should have another referendum.....NURSE! My pills,now....
