The programme is expected to help these countries ramp up their use of renewables – particularly wind and solar power – improve energy security, increase grid stability and expand access to electricity.

“For developing countries, this can be a game changer,” said World Bank Group President Jim Yong Kim. “Battery storage can help countries leapfrog to the next generation of power generation technology, expand energy access, and set the stage for much cleaner, more stable, energy systems.”

The $1 billion in World Bank Group financing is expected to mobilise another $4 billion in concessional climate financing and public and private investments.

The programme aims to finance 17.5GWh of battery storage by 2025 – more than triple the 4-5GWh currently installed in all developing countries.

A quick read gives the answer - "The company says it has plans to expand into batteries for electric cars and grid storage in the near future" - so plans are one thing, proven application is another. Red's Vanadium is deployed and proven with its Gen 3 ready to roll.

Don't try and wriggle out of this faramog, you know full well you are in the wrong and have been caught out trying to deramp yet again. Gen 3 was 6 months late and no more. Gen 4 is being designed and planned and that costs wages, so is all there in te accounts.

Time spent on development and testing is not delivery lateness. Try harder.

Lastly, development of Gen 4 is also well under way, from as far back as 2016 if I remember correctly and this is quite normal for a company that wants to progress and improve. How long do you think Auto companies plan and test new developments before putting into production? What you are doing is taking development timescales and deliberately mixing it up with production announcements to serve your own bitter deramping needs.

Developing the next version costs money and that is openly discussed in accounts.

Mike, Gen 3 was 6 months behind schedule but as you mention such developments are common and I would rather they get the design right as lessening of the amount of Vanadium needed was part of that design. It is extremely interesting that the prices Red are quoting companies has increased by around 20% after the German deal landed.

The element everyone is missing on the Red threads is that the German deal allows Red to trigger Jabil to tool up. An assembly line by experts like Jabil will significantly decrease the cost of each unit manufactured and this will move up margins and profits. Jabil's assembly lines will shorten delivery times and allow Red to be aggressive in the market and will be better equipped to tackle the competition. I look forward to RNS's of the future acknowledging these developments.

Sorry but that is a little naïve as you are missing the greed factor. Everyone loves money, everyone loves the power. With a well paid out takeover KK will be rich and still have a powerful influence, no longer the reluctant CEO. Seen it before with PDF, had a lovely CEO who beavered away from tiddler to almost production only to be bought out with a dreadfully low offer, but boy was he set up for life. PI's stiffed, II's went along with it. SEE could not possibly go for a really low amount as there are only (I cannot remember exactly) 32% shares held by II's so they have to keep PI's onside.

However once one bid is in, anyone keeping a close eye on Seeing will be forced to come out, then it really gets interesting and KK still keeps his big bucks

I said it before that if the BoD are incentivised to sell with great settlements for them personally, they will. Seen it before with PDF when they sold off prior to production for a crap amount for PI's, a small gain for II's (never understood why II's voted it through easily) and fantastic rewards for BoD.
