Hi Scored, Yeah, I always give the guys a tip - generally £4 - as our weekly shop with them generally comes in around 85/90, so hopefully that's commensurate/reflects what was spent on the shop but also says, 'thanks for doing a good job etc' and covers the price of a coffee etc. Had a couple of guys - different service, picking up some Ercol sofa stuff - that came from Swansea to Hitchin in Hertfordshire and they had set off at 4:30 am and still had other calls in London after picking up the Ercol before returning home. I kinda felt for them, so gave both of them a decent tip. One of them just stared at what I'd put in his hand and said, 'you sure?! I've been doing this job for 8 years and this is the first tip I've ever had!' Found that hard to believe almost! Was nice just to bring a bit of cheer to someone though doing a good job : ) A simple appreciation always goes a long way I find : ) All best...
Nice to see your very positive comments there Quickdraw. I deal/have worked with Ocado a lot and their delivery guys and girls do a great job. Was really nice of you give him that tip too, must have made his/her week : ) Well done!
Hey, good to see you posting on here again Rocka999 - been a while! but have always valued your opinion/insight on all things Ocado over the years. Onwards and upwards after the storms of this virus thing hopefully too! Cheers.
Anyone else seen this?..jJust share if you haven't; in today's Money Mail...

As you said...'they pick stock, put it in vans, and deliver to the home. That's the height of it!' Er? NO! here's an excerpt from the article Rocka posted the other day, did you read it, doesn't look like it?! Your money though, so your choice of course on this one!
A major turning point in the company's fortunes came when Ocado switched from trying to be an online grocer to selling its intellectual property.
It now has licensing agreements with a string of retailers including Morrisons in the UK, Sobeys in Canada, Groupe Casino in France and most importantly Krogers, the second largest supermarket in the US.
Thanks for posting/sharing this Rocka. Good upbeat interview there. I personally have a lot of respect for Tim and the hard working teams behind him making all these things happen. Love Ocado for the shopping experience too.
Good to see you posting the positives again too : ) Cheers amigo!
Thanks for your comments too Rocka, appreciated. I've been following this company now for nearly 18 years and bought some shares when they first became available and took a punt - along with some others where I work - as I/we had a hunch and believed in what Tim and the boys were creating and the vision they had that online was the future for this market- not like your Clive Black's and others at the time, what happened to him?! We've also enjoyed your banter - and words of wisdom! - between the shorts on here too; 'often hear someone say, 'you seen what Rocka's just said about!..' : ) Think though wether you go either long or short on this share, as we all know it's a real roller coaster of a ride, there's a chance for either party to make some profit here. Like the old tried and trusted saying goes though : 'as long as you don't put all your eggs in one basket' then hopefully most people will get something out of it? Also, I believe Ocado in the next 5/10 years or so, Ocado will establish them selves as another international name/brand a long the lines of Virgin etc, IMHO. Anyway. Good luck all to which ever way you play this one!
Hi all, first posting here!.. but have been following Ocado and bought in when the shares were 90p and still holding! Have seen the nay sayers come and go - aka shorters - for those that have been here a while : Hool, Skipper to name a few. Must thank you though Rocka999 for all the postings and postive faith you've had in Ocado in all that time and lovely to hear that you have profitted from it too, well done! Nurie123a? I don't think you are seeing the WHOLE picture with this company. This is a long haul journey and it is now getting nearer it's destination/s - if you wanted something to go long in, this was the company. The focus isn't just about basket sizes, the bigger picture is that OCADO is now a very successful tech company development wise and companies around the world have seen the proof in it's workings and that they are the best in their field. They don't or will want to be left behind in their own markets and so looking to licence and use Ocado technology. This is where the other revenue streams will from - inc the home maket too of course. This small once small acorn of a company will become a BIG oak of a tree in the next few years and it's halfway there already growth wise : )
