that if Remdesivir can add $20bn to the value of Gilead with a 29% reduction in hospitalised cases,
then a 79% reduction in hospitalised cases has to be worth a couple of billion at least.
Peer case review will not be too long, 2 to 3 weeks.
As it is highly likely that the product will be licensed on an 'emergency basis' because not only does it save lives, it keeps patients out of intensive care which is where the bottle neck will come on the second wave which we now undoubtably face. This not only relieves pressure on ICU if it gets really bad but also saves a lot of money in a milder scenario.
It is very difficult to refute this logic currently which is why II's will continue to build here. My target
is £8 here when the get is licensed. They will be looking fore more as this drug can be used against the virus as it mutates where as a vaccine, as has been shown with the flu vaccine, is much more of a hit and miss affair.
