How likely is it that the ESIA is being held up by the NEMC deliberately, in order to make possible the extortion of bribes?

A multi-million multinational mining company that has everything to lose, that cannot progress until a single document is obtained.

3 months today since ESIA application was submitted. What's the hold up? Don't TZ want us to get on with business?

I bought ARCM the start of February and held while the SP dropped about 50% due to covid. I held on and found some funds to accumulate... By the end of July I had doubled my money, payed off my debts and as of right now my AIM portfolio is up 200% YTD (triple whet it was in Jan)

This is similar in my opinion. Patience is the key. It is frustrating, sure. My strategy is to hold and hold some more until I am looking at some significant upside.

I'm keeping the hope alive... at least until it's truly dead and gone.

The market will know the results of the elections soon enough, no need for an RNS.

Licence will arrive in Q4 certainly so there is nothing to do but wait.

This time next week Magufuli will most likely have won the Tanzanian election and that will eliminate some uncertainty. Also I think the US election is causing a few to hold back some cash. Whoever wins will inject stimulus into the US which will make equities around the World bullish for at least a couple of months.

We're very likely to get some mega news (mining licence, finance) in Q4 so I'm holding for that. Also we might get a peppering of other news, such as appointment of EPCM or the CSIRO update.

It's simply a matter of evaluating the case for investment and waiting. I expect a surge in positive sentiment within the next two months. GLA

The current party (CCM) has been in power since independence and has won all elections since then. Recent polling suggests 80% support for CCM on the mainland and 77% on Zanzibar.

Magufuli actually increased taxes on multinational miners, boosting national coffers. The CCM intend to increase the contribution of mining to GDP by 2025. If this means by taxation or by increased granting of licences, I am unsure.

Tundu Lissu is the most prominent opposition candidate. I believe other opposition candidates are endorsing him. Here are some of his campaign pledges from last month:

He is pledging land reforms, his party would "nationalise all the idle land owned by businesspeople and bigwigs from the previous governments." He also said that they would fix the country's relations with other countries, and that Tanzania needed the World more than the other way around.

Personally I expect the incumbent to win. It seems to me that in that part of the World, all leaders become corrupt, no matter their election promises.

There's trending support just below 4p and it's pretty strong. SP certainly isn't going to fall below that without a catalyst. My bet is that SP will bounce hard and we'll be looking at 4.60 by the end of the week.

Expecting a good week here. Strong buying into Friday close, sector looks decent across the pond, near term news expected...

Someone on Fintwit just wrote about ACP: " the figures do suggest dividends around current share price levels within 2-3 years."

Is this some strain of total madness or is this in the realm of feasibility?
