Because it was WH Ireland that orchestrated the placing. If Cannacord had gone direct to UKOG then why would UKOG need to pay WH Ireland to find placees?

With an expression of solid interest from Canaccord, there was nothing to stop UKOG from mandating WH Ireland to cast the net a bit wider.

But they bought in size at 0.20p, which would not have been possible going through the market itself!

It was back in 02/12/19 that UKOG raised £2m at 0.85p through a placing with a single institutional investor (whose identity was never disclosed).

Yesterday's deal was rather similar, in that 72.1% of the total proceeds were raised from just one II.
