RE: Ref: Future Energy Security Concerns?27 Jan 2024 11:19
in the guardian, according to citywire's press round-up:
"the guardian: joe biden’s administration has hit the brakes on the us’s surging exports of gas, effectively pausing a string of planned projects".
also in the times, in an article spread over 2 pages, 50-51:
"what will biden's pause in gas exports mean for us?"
currently, there are 7 terminals in operation, but a further 17 projects further back in the queue "now appear to be stalled".
cites james watson, secretary-general at eurogas:
"the concern will be that in 2 to 3 years time the only new capacity coming will be in qatar, with a lot earmarked for china, india, **** stan and markets like that. it would lead to greater competition".
