why would the closure of short positions be executed via trades of 1m shares?

To activate the top-up option, press the buy button.

The lower price brings out buys.

Why is the price lower?

Because there is a continuing leaky tap of stock.

Is this leaky tap coming from shorts?

No idea.

It could simply be coming from PIs who bought with a trade in mind and have now decided to switch their attention elsewhere.

The market cap has NEVER been £500m.

It did get over £300m when the share price went to 11p, but there were considerably fewer shares in issue at the time.

Nobody is denying that the share price has gone down!

But the decline can't be attributed to dilution if no dilution has occurred because the issue of new shares reflects the addition of new assets of an equivalent value.

Not at all sure what is going on, but something does seem to be happening (reserve the right to amend this statement if volume now peters out for the rest of the day!).

There is no dilution if the company acquires, via a share issue, assets of a value equivalent to that of the shares issued.

It is reasonable to assume that, far from being dilutive, yesterday's deal will prove to be, in all likelihood, accretive.

There are no limits to what a shorter can lose either.

Personally, think the best thing the company can do is precisely what you list (prove HH concept, generate enough money for next projects etc).
