It's not dilutive if assets bought with the placing are of equivalent value to the funds raised and invested.

It's this year's planned programme that is fully funded, anything outside the planned programme may require a placing.

Yes, that's the point, why would they seek to raise funds now?

They did not buy the shares in the open market, they made a statement about the undervaluation of the stock in their opinion by paying over the odds through a subscription to new shares at 0.30p.

correction: you were speaking of small oil and gas companies when you mentioned the compounding of interest and not necessarily referring to Genel.

Genel's net debt no longer exists: net cash was $81m at 28/02/19 ($37m at 31/12/18);

interest on their debt ($300m) doesn't compound, it's paid on a regular basis.

Both those months form part of Spring, so sounds alright to me.

The dearth of posts on this board is, in my opinion, a good thing - think it's preparing the ground for quite a lively recovery in interest when new news arrives.

Looks as if the share price was 218.50 at the time the article was written, to give forecast earnings of about 45.50p, which looks reasonable.

At 204.50, the p/e ratio has now declined to 4.5x.
