I am talking about profits. Look at the last 8 annual reports on Royal Mail's website. The company was in much worse a state before it was privatised than it is today. No reason for the mark down of the share price.

POD - as ever balanced message. I agree with everything stated. Guidance does need to be upheld... if its £499 million, I can live with that, but if its way out (defined as 490 million or below) then they should have informed the market before now. Let's see what tomorrow brings.

Fundamentals clearly are not driving this share price anymore - they have become detached from reality. So, its not hard to hold these shares knowing that.

Charlie - 2013 was when letters were near a record high - so they have managed to hold profits steady despite the letters decline. Happy with this investment.

Charlie - long-term holders don't listen to others opinion on whether £2.15 is over valuing a share backed with an asset value of almost £5. You can read the accounts in 2011 and they made an operating profit of £18million, and the year before they floated and went well above £4.00 per share, their operating profit was little over £340 million... so its undervalued in all comparison - and the number of shares has held static.

Charlie - I love your sense of humour. They have £600 million in the bank at any one time and assets approaching £5 billion... plus they are selling off land at £20 million and acre and money due to come in shortly.

Possibly - I have more than one year that I am prepared to wait!

Interesting to say the least.... yes - I feel like all of the negativity has been priced in well before results day. I am sure that anyone who is a longterm holder could almost write tomorrow's RNS...

Mrd5432 - patience needed... it won't shoot up in minutes.... it takes patience. Long-term these are a good investment and if the dividend is increased, or even stays the same... that would be a bonus.

Shaunymac - annual accounts published at 7am... or very shortly thereafter. I am speechless in the sense that I could never really understand how a company with so much assets could be valued so lowly,,,, but as I have followed it down, I have added more....

Flabbergasted that there were 300k more shares bought than sold and its down.... but secret is to remain resolute.

This is a huge buying opportunity and luckily I had the money set side to buy more... welcome to new investors.... any sign of positive results tomorrow and today will look llike a bad dream...

That's the funny thing about bargains - we always want them cheaper and cheaper and the ones who lose oout are those who buy when its too late and the boat has sailed.

Chat of £2, Chat of £1.50, Chat of £1.00 - couldn't care a less - at this price its a bargain. A lot of people will be kicking themselves in a few weeks, never mind a few months, that they didn't take a slice of the cake,

£13k to invest on this one.... will bide my time.
