Mon - I don't agree with the current valuation of THG, but this has nothing to do with the valuation of Ocado. The point remains however that essentials have a high degree of repeat purchasing (and as such are less risky) whereas non-essentials are not afforded the same luxury. Its apples and oranges (pardon the pun).

Not entirely sure why everyone keeps comparing THG and Ocado. The bottom line is that Ocado sells essentials whereas THG doesn't. This is why the valuations are so far apart and a premium will always be afforded to Ocado. It doesn't make THG a bad company, but the target markets are not comparable.

I noticed that when someone asked whether Directors would be buying more shares in the company to help the situation, the question was somewhat deflected and answered as "well I would expect that those who hold shares would definitely take up their rights." Basically, directors won't be putting their hands in their pockets for the foreseeable future.

It's become an absolute free-for-all on this call. To be fair, I understand all of the PI's piping up now, the board have got away with radio silence for too long. But it doesn't make the board look particularly professional.

Interesting news on MCL, namely that they've decided to delist from AIM. Leaves Amigo as one of the few players left in subprime, its an opportunity if they can get it right.
