Check out the historic share prices of our supposed good banks - most are down way over 95% from their peak. £40 was no more accurate on Metro than £2.25 is now. I said weeks ago that only more bad news would drop it below the support at £2.50 - the BOD definitely haven't helped in the last 24 hours but it's still a buy when it settles later today..!

One thing that will also help is that loads on here have bought and sold already today - no one now in profit so it's a straight battle between bulls and bears from here..

Agree, 14m a year interest is Junk Grade interest rates on what should be predominantly investment grade bonds.

The balance sheet and current forecasts couldn't justify taking that number out of the equation..

The shorts got lucky this week, the heavy lifting had been done and Odey was starting to reduce.

It now needs a new bottom as the previous firm one at 250 has been breached because of a poor judgement call..
