well said good to hear another who thinks deeper than most of the public who generally are oblivious to the threats of our children and granchildrens futures - i.e. just carry on doing what I want to do and to hell with the future. The most worrying aspect of that is most polyticans think the same way especially this stupid mob in power at the moment.

That article is more than 8 years old and we have another billion humans now all using more fossil fuels and creating more pollution. Common sense leads me to question whether we can go on using fossil fuels and not just what scientists say. I can remember the London smog and presumably you would have been supporting the use of coal then and advocating that it is ok to carry on with coal burning fires. Good job common sense dealt with the sititaion and introduced clean air. We need control of the air pollution in all the cities of the world. The problem with fossil fuels in not in themselves but with the enormous rise in the number of humans using them. It is not only global warming that is of concern but the massive amount of waste material created including human sewage . There is not a major river in the world or in this country that is not polluted. Just think of everthing you use that goes down the drain or throw into the bin and mutilply it by 8 billion humans. I really worry for the future of my grandchildren and not prepared to take the risk of getting our understanding of our current effect on the world wrong because there will be no turning back.

hardly ever post but had to tell you that your posts make far more sense and are not abrasive like swazers who I have just filtered. much calmer site now
just fishing around for other investments and noticed your comment re. ii change display change - I agree not impressed i think in this case 'out with the new bring in the old' would be a suitable comment!
i am not an expert in hydrogen mix with diesel fuel but from some quick research it would seem that is not straight forward. How will the check on the validity of a declared 2% hydrogen usage be done - by an army of administrators. Sounds to me to be another bungling politicians act that will be extremely difficult to monitor. The time that governments have known about global warming they should have been focusing on hydrogen production 10 years or more ago and then by now many of the big ships could have been powered by hydrogen.
watcher unfortunately it is just not about food and space there is a host of other matters to consider i.e. --
water - getting more scarce in many countries even England ( this last summer). Without water and apart from drinking
supply means less food production , hygiene deterioration leading to more disease etc. More humans the more
water wastage through increased industry , gardens ,vehicle washing , swimming pools and hot tubs etc etc
Food - more food may be possible to be grown in some countries but will have to be transported to others with the obvious
effect on air and water pollution and fuel requirement.
pollution - nearly all the major rivers worldwide are polluted and much of the oceans now and this is affecting marine life -
less fish
sewage - this is probably an area where most people do not consider but even in our country we are struggling to manage
the sheer volume. It is not just about bathing quality of our beaches but the polluting of the rivers and oceans
Waste - the world is struggling to manage the waste especially the poorer countries where the waste is just land ,rivers or
sea dumped
Power demand - more humans more power demand especially if more vehicles are electric powered.
Health - more hospitals , health staff especially as we are living longer but not necessarily in good health
Migrants - this is going to increase year on year and will be difficult to stop without brute force closing borders.
Transport - more for manufactured goods, food and probably water and regrettably holiday & entertainment flights . The
latter two should have sunk into people by now . If parents care for their children then they should be thinking ahead
not just the present. Under entertainment i include major events like the world cup where thousand have travelled
long distances for the sake of football but is that and other sports worth more than saving the planet
There many more aspects to consider but can be covered by people looking at what they have or desire and then equate that to the huge world population.
I could carry on but hope that enough is pointed out above to start people thinking on a broader viewpoint.
well if the 8 billion and still rising population surge is not lowered then there will be not much of a world to enjoy in 10 - 15 years time. It will not matter whether vehicles are electric , hydrogen, oil fuelled or whatever as the state of the worlds economy will be devastated. Migration will increase hugely and so will social unrest. Sorry to be a doomsday messenger but it is a fact that most of the worlds population have not recognised or simply do not want to see the massive rise in humans as the main cause of global warming. The politicians and media certainly do not seem to like to discuss the population increase situation. BBC radio 4 did have some expert talking about the population rise earlier this week and one of the reasons was that in the more developed countries we are living longer to which the interviewer commented that must be good news - well only if in our older age we are well and can afford to live without relying on social services which is very doubtful.
No doubt I will get some strong replies to my comment but if anyone is interested in learning more then look at the 'Population matters ' web site .
Oh and bye the way I am invested in Prem and have been for many years.
So just as the Chinese do it we should do the same! How do we influence them by being aggressive or by setting an example. There have been many great things achieved in the past by individuals who at the time went against the tide and were laughed at or worst by society who did not understand or wanted to. I have grandchildren and I really am concerned about their future and if it means that if we have to struggle to adjust for a few years then so be it. If you are concerned about children missing school for a few Fridays what will you think when they do not have life anywhere near like what you enjoy today. Anyway I am sure that others on this site will be complaining soon that we are off the subject so if you are interested in preserving our planet for the future look at 'Population matters'
website.

The global warming is created by humans and the massive increase in the world population is putting more pressure on the earth's natural resources. If we do not start to educate people regarding the need to control the population by smaller families thus reducing the need for fossil fuels then many more children and elderly in the next decade or so are going to suffer much more than what you may envisage. Indeed many people world wide are already suffering through the effects of global warming. If Greta is proved wrong then no harm done if you are proved wrong then great harm done and irreversible. Saying sorry then will be too late . This is a beautiful and unique planet and we enjoy it to the full ( too much really) so lets try and do our upmost to save it for the future.
Milnrowmug - Heid has been very harsh about Greta who is not here to defend herself and I have a lot more respect for Greta then Heid. It takes some guts for a girl of her age to address the worlds corporations and politicians and get them to listen and take action.
heid
If you are that good an analyst can you forecast the bottom of the sp in the next month or so for a good entry.
Also life is precious that is what Greta is trying to preserve for her and all the children of the future. I get the impression that if we could easily exist with renewables you would still be banging on about oil. I guess you do not have any children which would explain your lack of concern for the future of the world. You just want to snuggle up in your blanket and watch love island and as a clever girl that kind of low life must be precious for you.
well yes I did as I have a life outside of this board and don't spend every minute of the day here unlike you and your fellow ducks - there again thinking about it ducks are not viewed as being the brightest of creatures so that possibly explains your obsession. I will not respond again as other more interesting things to do. LOL
Well said Banyards. He comes over as so full of himself and is always complaining of others posting constantly and yet that is what he does himself . Probably being a paid ramper is where his money comes from LOL . Thank heavens that there are few posters like yourself and gold who are more realistic. Rampers are the most dangerous kind of posters and influence many novice investors into unwise investments.
hope on management opinions - like UKOG and other investments I have had where management have said all the right things but action has been all wrong. I can recall that Heidi was a strong ramper on UK0G . I have learnt to consider more realistic views than the ever hopeful viewpoint.
bbb79- thanks for the realistic viewpoint - good to get a different view . I am getting rather stiff waiting for the train.
Gold please keep posting as I would rather listen to you than all the hopefuls chasing rainbows. They accuse you of being a 5 year old only because they inhabit that age group. I am always amazed how they criticise others views as though they are constantly right themselves. If the fundamentals are that good why do they have to keep posting them - to assure themselves? The company will do what they want and will not listen to their views.
Dr. A
I don't bother to post normally but am a long term holder here and have had to watch the painful drop in SP. However I am intrigued as to your relationship with the company. Was this your idea to do this survey or did the company actually approach you and if so are you being paid to do the research? You say that we know that you try to help some (?) directors - which directors are these and how do help them.
It is unusual to get BOD to ask shareholders to comment on their management.
