Well TH did state "by April" in the RNS, we've been in review now for 8 months, another 8-12 weeks isn't long to wait for the outcome. I'm happy to wait, perhaps it is dependent on having the financials lodged. They carry more legal "weight" than a trading statement for any proposed offer. Regardless I think it's a win/win for shareholders whatever the outcome.

Sunday, a merger, acquisition or sale will all benefit current SH's. Consolidation is the key in this industry due to the vast economies of scale. One major point from the RNS (IMO) is the renewal income covering the operating costs, and one of the three options mentioned (M, A, S) will only strengthen this, as unit costs decrease. atb

FOBT's generate less than �500m in revenue for HM government, which is a trifling amount in the wider context. So it's not really a "Golden Goose". The main threat is legislation to online gambling.

I don't believe any gambling organisation has a "strong future". The FOBT consultations by the DCMS are the thin edge of the wedge. They have openly stated the increase in online gambling is next on their agenda due to the alleged problematic gambling and easy accessibility. The long term future looks incredibly uncertain and this will effect investor choice regarding gambling companies in general. Diversification is the only solution.
