Solid points but have to be in the price already.
Covid deaths in UK nearly 400 per million, 2 per million in SA! Not sure exactly why the difference but covid has had the chance to spread. Could be to do with their younger population profile or, although not proven, covid just doesn't like warm weather. Either way, the population live hand to mouth and are desperate to get back to work.
It's also very possible to socially distance the workforce in SLP.
Rhodium, as pall & plat, is down on recent highs but the current basket price is still, without much in the way of demand, in line with, currently slightly above, the first half's amazing results.
If the host mine doesn't get back to full production anytime soon then that's a situation SLP have negotiated before & I wouldn't expect anything less than 60k Oz production next year, still a very profitable situation.
I imagine the discussion below regarding funds selling out is having the biggest effect on the SP. A strong affordable dividend policy announcement at the year end would put us where we should be, buybacks not seeming to have the desired effect.
Miners in general taking a kicking today so no real surprise that we're a bit down. I would imagine that a lot of people who bought through the 30's were waiting to cash in after the Q3 results and have now left the building.
Worth noting also that we sank from 47.2p to 43p (9.7%) in two days whilst LSE (and others) were displaying more buys than sells.
I know there are always "unknowns" around the mid price but a big drop on not large volumns nonetheless.
Heyho, anyone that was gonna bail down to 40p has gone and now expecting a steady rise.

Thanks, although link doesn't work, will have a hunt.
Outstanding numbers again, any idea why people are selling out?
Seems odd.

Agree
SP movement over last 3 days almost exact penny by penny as half year results 3 months ago.
Confident that the next two weeks or so will play out the same too.
SLP is my favourite share but I'm not sure it will ever reach it's rightful valuation.
I live in hope.
Drives you nuts because it happens every time SLP report.
Have picked up a few more at 44.12 though.
Closer to 50p by the weekend & 55/60p after ST has a word next week.
Was thinking the same Matthew. Only just bought here in advance of next month's results.
Wey is clearly over valued on historic metrics but the potential in the current climate is phenomenal.
Guess we'll find out in a fortnight or so!
Market Makers hunting for stop losses. Will bounce back later.
Some numbers
Basket prices
Q1 $1654
Q2 $1872
Q3 ????? Just going to be incredible.
Q4?
Right now
60% plat @ 762 = 457
26% pall @ 1936 = 503
14% rhod @ 8200 = 1148
Total basket price, today $2,108, with virtually no demand & still way over 1st half basket price.
Q3 is gonna blow you away.
Get off the fence Nimrod and fill your boots. ??

Although I've not been here anywhere near as long, just the 5 quarters for me.
Very strong steady climb today, really encouraging.
And then another million?
That's a serious offload.
Added 50% this morning at 8p. Chuffed.
Look out for the tree shake. MM's dropped this share 15% after announcing great half year profits end Jan before surging over 50% to 60p+ within a fortnight. Expect they'll do similar when they run short of stock this time.
So who tf has just dropped 1.3m shares?
Mental.
A quick look at previous years indicate randomness!
Q3 results announced any date from 26th to 30th April.
Nice steady sp movement this morning, savvy PI's getting in before the herd arrives.

Nice find, do you live that way?
Pleasant early rise here (back to work announcement?)
CNIC up too. Enjoy your day.

Agreed

Let's see how the markets react.
This must be the quietest BB ever!
7 posts (8 now!) this month & 2019 finals with update announced tomorrow.
Anyone have any hopes/thoughts/aspirations/estimates?
I'm thinking that the first Q update will have more impact than the actual results. Any admission that Covid has affected us in a negative way will drive the SP down, no effect at all & I'm hoping for a steady gains. Assuming of course that results are at least in line, as stated, with expectations.
Anyone out there?
Tom Winnifrith also invested here.
Great article. Sure however it has just ****ed all over my plan of doubling my holding at under 8p tomorrow.

just wish I was as articulate as yourself.

Sorry bud, didn't want to sound so aggressively defensive of my favourite share. Have a second look though, as Tiger explains, there is incredible value here, if you strip out the cash pile then the year end June 2020 PE will be closer to 2.
SLP has always been undervalued, even beyond the inherent risks of operating in South Africa (Eskom power shortages, water shortages, workforce issues, SA's "junk" status etc.. etc...) but it just keeps on delivering.
I've given up using the term "re-rating" but the upcoming results will certainly "drag" SLP's SP/market cap closer to where it should be. Good luck.

Don't want to call you out mate but a quick look at your posting history tells me that you've yet to display any comprehension of insight, research or understanding.
Repeatedly posting this share is going to double/treble by teatime on all the boards you visit doesn't benefit anyone.
Read, learn and by all means ask questions, most people are happy to share their knowledge, just please stop yapping.
