I don't honestly believe that what is said on this BB ("ramp" or "deramp") will make the slightest difference to what is going on 7400 miles away in the mines of Chile. What happens to Herencia is completely out of our hands and whether we invest more (in my case would be to bring my average down) is merely speculating. I've seen many of my mining investments (CRND and ORE to mention but 2) go "down the pan" and I sincerely hope HER doesn't as well as it's the one I've been in the longest and have invested most in. I'm just going to sit it out and fingers crossed they dig up a **** load of useful ore. GLA - we're all in this together.
OK. Thanks for that gixer.
Probably a daft question but why take the lycopene out of Fruitflow ( description appears to promote the fact that it is "Lycopene free") when Lycopene itself has been linked to reduction in platelet aggregation, reduced risk of CVA and cardiovasc risk, possible reduction in risk of prostate cancer and even protection against Parkinson's disease. Sorry if I'm being nave.
The prospector went to the gates of heaven and St. Peter said "you can't come in - we're full - and anyway, we already have a ton of broken down prospectors". The prospector said "what do you mean you're full? I worked my whole life for peanuts, I found showings, a few became mines, some of them big ones. Thousands of jobs were created, new towns were developed. People had good lives because of me". "We're full - you can't come in" maintained St. Peter. "I got ripped off by the majors, they wouldn't pay my NSR's. The juniors wouln't pay me the cash, the exhcange wouldn't approve my shares. It was pretty tough down there and I really think I deserve a spot" said the prospector. St. Peter said, too bad, "we're full - elbow to elbow, tons of prospectors here already, go to hell, they have room". Dejected the prospector, never a quitter, went away, only to come back in the morning. He knocked on the gates and St. Peter opened it a fraction. "Just give those prospectors a message for me" said the old broken down prospector. "Sure" said St. Peter. "Tell them we just found gold in hell. Tons of it, great globs of gold. Gold everywhere, bigger than Busang. Continues along strike for 10-km, 100 meters wide and looks good at depth too". St. Peter gave the message to the prospectors. Heaven emptied as the prospectors poured out, running for hell. Majors followed. Claims staked everywhere, even halfway to heaven. St. Peter was looking pretty glum. Found the old prospector and told him he could come in now. "F*** you" said the prospector, "the rumour might be true".
Thanks for that Gorsuch. Cleared up the little red circle for me and I must admit that I did think that what was said on here (or other public BBs) wouldn't affect share prices. Cheers for taking the time to reply.
Could I ask a possibly nave question but does what is written on the chat pages on here really affect the share prices ? Just appears that there are usually only a handful of people logged in (sometimes none if the little red number over the share chat icon indicates that) and there must be considerably more people invested in stocks. Just wondered really, and interested to know if more experienced investors than me thought it did affect the share price dramatically. Cheers.
I've been grey for years and investing in HER is certainly no "Just for men" ! I'll be happy if I break even to be fair and recent events make me a tad hopeful. I've mainly seen my plethora of mining shares go down the pan although BMR might be rallying - and that's probably put the kiss of death on that. Don't think I'll be retiring anytime soon. BW and GLA
Fool that I may be I've lumped on again to average down to 0.22 - relatively high currently but a tad better than the price in 2011 when I originally bought in.
Haha. Nope. Have written it off to be fair but just log in occ to see what's happening and whether the share is still trading.
Nonbeliever - Just gotta laugh.
Deja Vue.
It wasn't actually on here - Not sure I'd actually joined then but it was around that time. (It was a face to face consultation and the chap had nothing to gain by telling me to be fair) I'm just biding my time and averaging down when I can afford to. Always the optimist.
Highest paid was Jan 2011 and paid 3.82. (was informed could be worth 10x that and thought a reliable/genuine source - gullible maybe but the source and info and my own limited research seemed sound)
Cheers Cahus. (Could have bailed many times but just had a feeling it would come good - esp listening to some well informed (rest his soul) and optimistic investors) Let's indeed hope it will realise the potential I was told it would when investing 6-7 years ago.
I've still quite a way to go to break even sadly. Bought in in 2010/11 when on the rise and have over the years averaged down considerably to 0.3. (seeing the loss resolving is good for the soul though) Always had faith.
Thanks GCCRa. Does look like Tomato extracts are getting some credence amongst the medical profession which will hopefully benefit fruitflow. (Spot on re Stranglers number - was gonna be that or JJ)
Tomato and lycopene supplementation and cardiovascular risk factors: A systematic review and meta-analysis. Cheng HM1, Koutsidis G1, Lodge JK1, Ashor A2, Siervo M2, Lara J3. Author information Abstract BACKGROUND AND AIMS: Epidemiological evidence suggests an association between consumption of tomato products or lycopene and lower risk for cardiovascular diseases (CVD). Our aim was to evaluate the state of the evidence from intervention trials on the effect of consuming tomato products and lycopene on markers of cardiovascular (CV) function. We undertook a systematic review and meta-analysis on the effect of supplementing tomato and lycopene on CV risk factors. METHODS: Three databases including Medline, Web of science, and Scopus were searched from inception to August 2016. Inclusion criteria were: intervention trials reporting effects of tomato products and lycopene supplementation on CV risk factors among adult subjects >18 years of age. The outcomes of interest included blood lipids (total-, HDL-, LDL-cholesterol, triglycerides, oxidised-LDL), endothelial function (flow-mediated dilation (FMD), pulse wave velocity (PWV)) and blood pressure (BP) inflammatory factors (CRP, IL-6) and adhesion molecules (ICAM-1). Random-effects models were used to determine the pooled effect sizes. RESULTS: Out of 1189 publications identified, 21 fulfilled inclusion criteria and were meta-analysed. Overall, interventions supplementing tomato were associated with significant reductions in LDL-cholesterol (-0.22 mmol/L; p = 0.006), IL-6 (standardised mean difference -0.25; p = 0.03), and improvements in FMD (2.53%; p = 0.01); while lycopene supplementation reduced systolic-BP (-5.66 mmHg; p = 0.002). No other outcome was significantly affected by these interventions. CONCLUSIONS: The available evidence on the effects of tomato products and lycopene supplementation on CV risk factors supports the view that increasing the intake of these has positive effects on blood lipids, blood pressure and endothelial function. These results support the development of promising individualised nutritional strategies involving tomatoes to tackle CVD.
