Troajan,
No data has been released for peer review yet. Unknowns:
Does it prevent only mild Covid or does it prevent serious Covid infections as well?
Does it protect the most vulnerable [old or underlying illness]?
I approved, will there be sufficient uptake to end transmission?
Will poor countries be able to distribute the vaccine if it requires a specialised cold chain?
Will it work across ethnicities [different DNA]?
How long will immunity last?
Will it be effective against mutations of the virus?
Will adverse reactions happen many months after taking the vaccine [vaccine induced disease exacerbation]?
Will the virus mutate into a more potent pathogen after exposure to the virus?
2 other points; Pfizer will only be able to manufacture enough of the vaccine for 650m people by the end of next year. And, no mRNA vaccine has ever been approved for human use [yet]. The game is far from over but some of the runners and riders are starting to fall away.
