Most of the original value [now wiped out] was based on its white labelling service of it's web-shop platform. That was where the tech valuation came from; now the company is closer to being valued as a retailer.

So I checked the trades on LSE - even though Google Finance showed the big trade as a buy at 84.4p the trade list shows it as a sell at 82p when the Bid was 84p. It must stay on the watching brief for a while longer...

I have my eye on BREE - it is down 20% over the last 6 months and seems to be in a good place and throwing off cash... They have said they want to distribute 40% of profit. One of the trades was a 32m shares buy (£25m) so the bottom may have been hit. I will wait and see if TR1s come out explaining the trades.

A cynic's take:

There have been no notifications of significant holdings after the last 5 share subscriptions. Is the person(s) buying the shares also a seller? If I held 1 % of the company and was able to buy under 2% of the company at a discount and then sell said shares at a profit I would be reduce my average without ever having to notify the market of my trades whilst benefitting from the hype of a High Net Worth Individual buying.

I used to be a trader in an unrelated market but the principals are the same; you regularly want people to have the wrong impression of your position and attentions. Be wary of drawing conclusions from partial data.

From memory, the founder kept personal ownership of the properties when it was listed and then leased them to the listed company. They seem to have listed a bunch of retail brands at a tech valuation because of the ability to white label the IT behind the brands, which were mainly sold through the Interweb.

EBITDA of less than 8% is too low to interest me; seems to be burning cash as well.
