I read the subject line with some concern... I have quite a few MAFL shares, and their zinc / copper prospect will only be mined if the numbers make sense.

But, the strengthening of the $ makes mining in the € more rewarding; weaker prices deters marginal mines from expanding; prices are still significantly up on a 3-year window; demand for the grid and EVs is just deferred, and MAFL are not a one trick pony. Their Portuguese prospect has a high IRR of nearly 70% and a 1.5-year payback period at commodity prices lower than current prices.

Still think MAFL shares are a bargain but unloved shares are unloved even if I cannot work out why...

This is just another example of ocelot trying to spin a piece of news into a justification for his "Strong Buy" opinion. You would think that with all the stick he has received recently he might show some humility.

No figures... but you can read into the statement below that the revenue from this transaction is unlikely to be material:

Good luck if your are 'building a position' here as there may be plenty of shares available for you to purchase when they issue billions more shares.

Once the BOD have authority to issue shares after the AGM, they do not need the support of any specific shareholders to issue shares. You might not like the prospect of dilution, but most accept cash is low, and a placing is likely unless cash comes from the partner very soon.

Did you see that there was an RNS from BMN this morning... They want to expand production by spending another $150m. Big ask for a company with a m/cap of around $100m. Someone is going to want a big chink of equity or a loan with nasty terms... maybe even death spiral financing.

There is no point putting out pie-in-the-sky plans without financing; that normally damages the companies share price making future financing even worse.

I regularly read many science / battery type websites... there just is not as much interest in Vanadium batteries as BMN shareholders think; if the only use is in steel then there is not as much demand as people are expecting... in fact there may even be more than the market wants to buy with companies like BMN who pushed up production for demand that has yet to materialise.
