How our technology worksUtilising Nanosynth’s proprietary patented nanotechnology, we are capable of coating fibres in part or completely with anti-pathogenic metals and by capitalising on the thermal properties of both the metal and fibres to be coated, permanently fixing the metal to the fibres. We do not use any hazardous chemicals in our process, and the base metal is permanently fixed to the outside of the fibres, without risk of detachment. Our technology enables us to attach any metal nanoparticle as a coating to the media, however at present we have been focused on the application of copper as it is well established as a natural anti-pathogenic element; copper denatures viruses and bacteria on contact. Our copper formulation emits ions, which travel across the full length of the charged media. On contact with the media, these ions penetrate through the protective capsules and membrane around the virus and bacteria. Once inside, they go on to attack the nucleus and the genetic material inside. This process effectively sterilises them, preventing any further reproduction and environmental spread of the pathogen. Our anti-pathogenic technology has been independently tested in UK universities and government approved testing houses. The unanimous conclusion from these tests proves that using just 1% w/w of our copper nano particles applied to the fibres, results in the anti-pathogenic enhancement of the fibres and resultant media produced that continues to perform throughout the lifetime of the filter.
