Dear Mr Hot Air - walking aids thinking, that is recognised by many writers, politicians and others. Why don't you go for a nice walk in the countryside and think over the things I've said. Go down to Salisbury Plain, it's nice down there. Ignore the warning signs that say "Danger - firing range. Keep out".

Re: people who ignore warnings. I've just been reading in the news of a woman who died from sepsis. She could have been saved if she had sought medical help sooner. Her family said they hadn't seen the warnings about sepsis! How could they miss them?

It reminded me of another sad case of a young girl who died from being strangled by the cords on window blinds. she was at her grandparent's house. The grandparents said they hadn't seen the warnings about these cords. In the two years prior to that case, I had seen two other identical cases in the news.

So Mr Hot Air - why do people give warnings? It is because the dangers are real. DELT could hit 15p but if a custodian fails, some holders could lose part or all of their holding.

"Dearest Noel , no one is going to take your shares away . Relax and take some diazepam." - if that is so Mr Hot Air, why have professionals in the financial world given warnings about custodial risk?

Why does my broker, and no doubt there will be others too, mention pooled investments and custodial risk in it's Terms of Service?

On this board, upomega, who told us that he worked in this area of the financial world, warned that pooled investments and shorting was a serious risk. We haven't head from him since I proved that my broker mentions pooled investments and custodial risk in its T&Cs.

So Mr Hot Air - it must be you who is on drugs that suppress the sense of caution that protects us from danger. That would explain your head in the sand attitude.

My holding is in seven figures and it doesn't begin with a one. I consider myself to be a serious investor and I don't want anyone taking my shares because someone else shorted them and so I will pursue this issue.

No one has anything to say about brokers who pool investments and lend them out for short selling. I presume that everyone except me is happy to let that happen to their shares and happy to take the risk of sharing in any shortfall.

A head in the sand attitude is not a sensible idea. One day you might look at your account and find that some or all of your DELT shares have gone.

and don't tell me to give it a rest. These boards are for discussion about not just the company, but also about the wider aspects of owning the shares of the company so my posts are relevant.

This site has a filter feature - use it and shut up about me. Stop trying to be the board policeman.

Well roly DAVRO, did you read the extracts from the 2019 results in my post? There is some very positive news there, but what happened to the sp after that? will it happen again, I don't know.

upomega - I too preferred the days when I had paper certificates. I do still have a few, but my shares are mostly in an online account. Obviously the convenience and lower dealing charges make it the more attractive option and I have known about this share in a shortfall issue for a few years but stuck with online as I regarded the risk as low. However the world's financial situation is now a bit scary and that has caused me to re-assess the risk. Thank you for your valuable advice and I will look into your broker's T&Cs.

Anyone with II should read 6.2.7. I see they have changed the wording from "participate in" to share in"

6.2.7 any investments held on your behalf may be pooled with those investments of other
customers. This means your entitlement may not be individually identifiable on the relevant
company register, by separate certificates or electronic records (other than ours, where
they will be identifiable) and, in the event of an unreconciled shortfall caused by the
default of a custodian, you may share proportionately in that shortfall

Please don't take this as a dig at you - it is absolutely not.

I'm sure the FCA would say the right things but I listen to BBC Money Box and read the financial press and I recall certain cases involving the FCA.

19th December, 2020, BBC Radio 4's "Money Box" (I doubt that it is still on the iPlayer \ BBC Sounds, but it might be) did a report on the LCF scandal. The guest speaker said the way the FCA acted, i.e. failed to act, was "staggering". People reported the fraud, warned the FCA about what was happening and the FCA did absolutely nothing. They denied that it came under their remit, which the report says isn't true, they failed to pass on the reports to the police and they failed to tell people where else they could report it.

This was a newspaper report on it (extracts) -
