The latest Investing Matters Podcast with Jean Roche, Co-Manager of Schroder UK Mid Cap Investment Trust has just been released. Listen here.
I was just thinking about the 21st and thought someone would be running a book on whether we get an V2 App Launch RNS with some additionally exciting announcement to read on the same day ...
Playstation 5 is supposed to be launched 2020 ( i have GMD)
It wasn't the news I wanted (license submitted was my hope for next RNS) but we should expect to receive news relating to board composition as this is common place for a company looking to have solid company governance foundations moving forward.
Someone mentioned salary, a non-exec is generally only working a couple of days a month, typically 1k a day rates so not going to break the bank and hopefully reflective of the value BA sees in them.
I mentioned the following on another board recently as I do like to see relevant Non-execs hired as their role is to ensure BA and of Chinese friends are doing the right thing for all.
By the looks of it this chap can advise on the financial and commercial aspects of the business moving forward.
The contribution of the non-executive to the board’s functions includes:
• Contributing to the development of its strategy and providing an effective challenge of management’s
strategic plans
• Providing independence and bringing an external perspective
• Adding to the balance of skills and experience
• Being an effective part of the board – sufficiently briefed and dedicating sufficient time to the role.
anyways, for me a step in the right direction on building a business for the future with the right building blocks in place.
Best of luck.
IR at PDL are pretty dam quick at responding...
"Thank you for your email.
There is no update on the parcel. It is still being held as evidence in the court case regarding the two officials who were arrested. Their case has yet to be heard.
We will provide an update when the situation changes."
So I also asked (of course) about the big Pink Diamonds sale and got this response...
"I’m afraid I cannot comment on the exact content of the Q3 Trading Update.
It will be released at 7am on Monday (15th April).
Kind regards"
I may have missed the resolution so please help, does anyone know whats going on with the blocked parcel from 2017?
Last update I found was a small footnote reference in the 2019 trading update Jan 28th
"1. Negatively impacted by the 71,654 carat parcel blocked for export"
I have emailed investor relations and asked the question as its a load of cash coming our way if resolved in our favour.
Completely agree.
From a non-financial perspective I am interested in a few KPI's we cannot necessarily see through Social channels
Number of visitors, sign ups, views, repeat user views (showing engagement).
I am also looking forward to some further timeline/insight on partner news, FB, Headsets suppliers, events
Looking forward to hearing what our big stones sold for...
Best of luck all.
Hi everyone, almost a year on from the initial App launch, I'm curious to what peoples revenue expectations are for the end of year results ?
Last year results were April 30th, so I assume similar this year?
its all boardroom politics as far as I am concerned, the current board would rather keep their jobs in a restructured company and wipe out the majority of shareholders than do the right thing for all currently involved.
A disgrace.
I think the Directors of DEB need to revisit their roles and responsibilities as directors, they have clearly not done a great job and should allow the company to continue under the leadership of someone who has a plan and money to execute. Sell the damn thing to Mikey...
A. A successful company is led by an effective and entrepreneurial board, whose role is to promote the long-term sustainable success of the company, generating value for shareholders and contributing to wider society.
B. The board should establish the company’s purpose, values and strategy, and satisfy itself that these and its culture are aligned. All directors must act with integrity, lead by example and promote the desired culture.
C. The board should ensure that the necessary resources are in place for the company to meet its objectives and measure performance against them. The board should also establish a framework of prudent and effective controls, which enable risk to be assessed and managed.
D. In order for the company to meet its responsibilities to shareholders and stakeholders, the board should ensure effective engagement with, and encourage participation from, these parties.
E. The board should ensure that workforce policies and practices are consistent with the company’s values and support its long-term sustainable success. The workforce should be able to raise any matters of concern.
10 * $656,933 = $6,569,330
21 * $656,933 = $13,795,593
$20,364,923 I guess subject to quality and commissions but nevertheless not too shabby...
What does this make the value of our two??

RNS 18th FEB - CEO Review section
For the Period under review, Finsch and Williamson both delivered solid results and production at Cullinan ramped up as expected. That said, the lower value product mix delivered at Cullinan offset the impact of higher volumes as production from the C-Cut phase 1 was largely concentrated in the south-western part of the footprint and therefore not representative of expected production from the full extent of the block cave. At Koffiefontein, ROM production started the Period on a positive trend, but community unrest, which hindered employee attendance, and lower than expected plant availability adversely impacted production during the second quarter. Subsequently, additional crushing capacity has been introduced to the plant, employee attendance has normalised and monthly production is currently ramping back up to levels observed in Q1 FY 2019. Post Period end, Williamson recovered two good quality pink stones (21ct and 10ct) which are in the process of being sold as part of the February 2019 tender.
RNS last night - Huge personal buy from him and his wife... CEO with a good size chunk taken also...

Hopefully they are from the same family as this fella sold last year... we shall see

i'm not so sure the bed in a box game is nearly up completely though...
I am comforted by the fact that the BOD at EVE had already recognised this months ago and are implementing the bed-in-a-box next gen model, ie, the growth is in the ancillaries not just the mattress. Thats my reading of it.
Personally I think they need to implement a customer engagement framework focusing on life stages, birth (cot), first bed, double, moving out, marital home, new bed etc and try and engage with their customers through their life stages, that is how you gain loyalty and hopefully a growing and prosperous business.
Pillows, Duvets, sheets etc are all items that need replacement on a annual / two-yearly cycle... I think can find success as we move into this model of repeat purchase...
Best Noddi
Does anyone know how much the 2 Pink diamonds they referenced may be worth ?
I did a bit of looking around and they could be significant - I guess why they isolated them as a mention?
I noticed the other day that MelodyVR have just started following @bbcglasto on twitter.
If we hear of a deal with the BBC in the coming weeks/months this would be an excellent piece of news, broadcasting one of the biggest music festivals live... surely these are the kind of deals that we need to be working on outside of the Headsets manufacturers???
Come on Ant, give us an update matey....
