Dont see ryhme or reason for the general downward apart from Trump and Brexit....the UK functioned fair enough before joinging the EEC so dont see why it cant go back to old friends in the Commonwealth for trading....and "its special relationship" with Uncle Sam....the usual...market makers making markets to line their pockets at the expense of the punters. One that is bucking the trend is HL. or HRGV....Hargeaves....missed a nice lift on them this morning...darn it 🙂

Finding it hard to spot "a safe turn" , so been doing a bit of trawling to see how things are moving, generally. From the ones I've looked at, across the spectrum of industries, it looks like a slide started in mid May and is still ongoing. Be careful out there.......in the meantime, looking for opportunities in here as well as with NG, CNA, RDSA, BP,FRES and IMB.......nothing really tempting me.

Reckon its dropped enough to allow the big boys in on the cheap....then up she pops in time for the next divvy date

Just a gut comment...still on the high side for me earlier today...dentist visit interrupts trading....and see close is where I saw it going to. Even without Donald going off on one I reckon it will break £3 before it sees £4.....still managing to cream a bit off the trades so far, having committed to the first buys in nearly a year, so havent lost the touch....just wish the free access chart system was still on the go at Google finance....you get used to a system and none of the rest I've tried so far came near it. Hope you've settled in after the move northwards....yer getting closer.. and mine's a Glenmorangie 🙂 🙂

Not really looking to sell, Billy.....at current divi levels I'm looking at >5% return....anything above 60.5 and I'm laughing...divi and capital gain. Might have to dig into the piggy bank and buy another steady one or two.....bank/building society rates of return are rubbish, so no point in letting capital depreciate sitting in a bank vault. So still on the hunt for a good un that falls back to a fair low 🙂

Lloy ticking up again. CRAIG...I used to have a dod of the other national drink...see they hit the 7 quid....16% up from when I started to look at the market again...they were always good for 6 quid minimum....anything below thats a steal. Glenda is not the girl she used to be...nice 5% swings....you'd now need quite a few and a good algorithm 🙂

Been a while. Looking to get back into the fray....but definitely not this one....been eyeing up MarksandSparks since its low...still seems low at the 150 mark with good divvy still being paid. How have you been faring.....did you catch up on Poldark :)

Certainly not the local friendly bank that it once was. Been with them the best part of 50 years because at the kickoff the local manager authorised a loan....came at the time when I was a young fella with no credit history to talk of. The beginning of June saw my local, the next one nearest as well, both closed. While I admit to online banking for the most of my service requirements, I still like to be able to talk face to face with a bank rep when I need to.....end result of local closures..I went to a competitor who is still local to me, and in the course of conversation it became apparent I was not alone in transferring banks....a shame ! Watched this thing for years now, esp. since the 2008 crunch and the current 244.9 ( only because of 10 fold share change) it hasnt done much since its heady days of 19p to the equivalent 24p....wont be surprised if the internal division/separation of domestic/business banking results in the domestic side closing down altogether
