RBS...ok for a day punt, but I'd let the dust settle before committing to long term. Having said that, it is my intention to acquire RBS myself as part of my core of holds....I made comment on the RBS board yesterday I think. Long term, I dont see anything wrong with this one WHY....and albeit a wee bit expensive at just over £1.20ish....NOP....it is doing really well. I was in it, but left to looosen up cashflow to allow me catch some other stuff .

First point: "a significant reduction in personnel number and a more than 50 per cent decrease in overhead expenses between August 2008 and April 2009. The Company has closed one of its two offices and frozen most development activities and capital spending." So they and other eastern bloc are hitting hard times, samer as the rest of us. The pot is on the gas at the moment regarding their refinancing and crunch time is the 3rd week in May. If it doesnt have its finances in order by then, it will be in SERIOUS trouble. Even with breathing space its strategy is "hibernation followed by moves to try and benefit from a kickstart when their economy recovers. It sounds like quite a few others, but is honest enough to put its cards on the table. Extremely risky and on the basis of its own plans, a LONG term punt. Shame....it seemed to have been doing so well in the not too distant past.

I am in....and holding for good reason the following....INCH, WHY, PDG, EML. FND, WTM, amongst others. The first 3 are not finished earning by a long chalk, EML is doing fine, FND...mmmmm, and WTM....I think it has good prospects even after the profit taking on Friday...(rats.......why cant they let it run and get a good take instead of penny profits)

I ducked on MXP because of McQuarrie. Anybody tries to mess about with them they wipe the floor with them. Having said that......McQuarrie are not in the business of repo work......and I might be missing an opportunity, but I've got other fish that need my dosh just now anyway.....only so many strings to my fiddle.

Re MXP....who are their main lenders?

Initial impressions: Providing fair bit of employment to an area in Scotland that badly needs it. Good base of clients who use its products. Ticks the green box in recycling plastics, and due to pay Dividend at the back end of this year of 14. something pence (reduce from 22p to conserve cash....good move in these times) Havent done any number crunching on it, but looks a good candidate, for a deeper dig.
