Back to the website, the blank news isn't caused by the twitter feed, it was the twitter feed that broke the home page when the twitter account has been restricted, but they have removed the feed entirely now.

The blank news placeholders appear fairly regularly, I have a feeling they are auto generated as the last 3 all occurred in the early hours of the morning:
