CAP-XX is pleased to announce that it has reached agreement with TDK Corporation of 3-9-1 Shibaura, Minato-ku, Tokyo, JAPAN ("TDK"), whereby TDK will licence a family of CAP-XX's patents on a non exclusive basis for a range of supercapacitor sizes.
TDK, one of the World's largest electronic component suppliers, with sales in excess of US$11 billion and over 100,000 employees, will join Murata and AVX as licencees of CAP-XX's supercapacitor IP, as CAP-XX pursues its strategy of building and licencing its IP portfolio.
The royalty rate to be paid to CAP-XX is in line with the royalty rate agreed to in other licence agreements previously announced with Murata and AVX. No further financial details relating to the transaction will be disclosed due to confidentiality provisions in the agreement.
Anthony Kongats, Chief Executive of CAP-XX said:
"We are delighted to have licenced our supercapacitor technology to TDK, which is a leading participant in the global electronics market. We expect other licence agreements to follow for our intellectual property, which is critical to the production of supercapacitors as well as other related applications."
Sarnia, I agree that they dont need to share everything they are working on, but a balanced disclosure would I'm sure have been beneficial to the company as well as SP. Keeping an interest in the company and in the limelight to some degree. Nonetheless... we are in a great position now, graphene is just a bit more icing on the cake for now ...
I find it rather annoying that cpx have been working on graphene for such a long time, to the extent that they have patents on it, yet almost have to have it dragged out of them via questions at an AGM to publicly own up to it. They really do need a good PR man to promote the business. Had the sp been higher, it would have made the dilution for the Murata deal so much smaller..... ?
Good post Vanilla, nice to see someone being honest, I'm with you on the 20p issue, it would do me ... I kinda hope we get bought out as AK wouldn't accept 20p ish last time and the company is SOOOO much healthier now ... bring it on !
The Board of CAP-XX announces that all resolutions put to shareholders at the Company's Annual General Meeting held earlier today were duly passed.
CAP-XX's Chairman, Pat Elliott, also made the following statement in relation to the Company's activities:
"I am very pleased to be able to report to shareholders that, following the successful installation of the former Murata production lines at our newly constructed headquarters facility at Seven Hills, Sydney, we are now in the process of manufacturing product for first product shipment to customers next month - December. We continue to receive strong levels of enquiries for our new DMF, DMT and DMH lines and the level of our orderbook gives us confidence for the outlook for the coming calendar year despite the challenging economic backdrop to world markets."
"We are also pleased to report that since the publication of our recent results just 3 weeks ago our order book has grown by over 10%. In addition, we have made further progress in the pursuit of our various licencing and patent infringement cases. In closing I would like to thank our shareholders for their overall support and especially for supporting the transaction late last year to fund the Murata supercapacitor acquisition."
