At the moment, the only BLU, e-sports investments, that has any visibility, is their latest one in Leaf Mobile Inc, which recently started trading on the Toronto Venture Exchange.
BLU invested CND$100,000 for 625,000 shares, a 0.293% stake.
Leaf’s shares have risen 50% in just over a week and it now has a market cap of CND$51m, which makes BLU’s shares worth CND$150,000, an increase of CND$50,000.

It would be good to get an update on BLU’s other 6 e-sports investments.
However, Derek Lew, BLU’s chairman and CEO of LEAF, seems to have done a brilliant job in taking LEAF from inception, through fundraising, RTO and listing, which, I think, augers well for BLU’s other e-sports investments.

Can anyone confirm whether of not Mercia has an equity stake in UK Rapid Test Consortium (UK-RTC) partner, Abingdon Health?

Given the excitement around ODX as a UK-RTC partner, one might have expected some excitement around Abingdon. Could the lack of interest in Abingdon, perhaps be, because it is not listed and no-one knows about its link to Mercia?

From companies house records, it looks to me as though Mercia own between 25% and 50% of Abingdon.

There is a PSC02, person with significant control form, from Abingdon, which shows that Enterprise Ventures (General Partner NPIF YHYV Equity) Limited owns 25 – 50% of Abingdon.

Last year’s accounts from Enterprise Ventures General NPIF YHTV Equity Ltd, show that it is a wholly owned subsidiary of Mercia.

Mercia also shows Abingdon as a portfolio company on its website but is this because of a direct equity investment or is it via one of its investment funds, from which Mercia only receives management fees?
I think equity investment but I could be wrong.,

Not sure what you see as the difference between the Avacta and Sona tests?

Both Sona and Avacta are trying to produce an antigen test, which looks for the antigen spike on the Coronavirus pathogen as opposed to the current NCYT type, antibody test, which looks for antibodies produced by an immune response to the virus.
The value of the antigen test is that it identifies people as soon as they are infected whereas the antibody test may test negative until peak immune response, which in Covid-19, can take up to 9 days.
Both are developing a device that looks like a pregnancy test so that it can be used at home, at work or at point of care, without a lab, is cheap and can returns a result in 10 minutes or so minutes.

You’ve probably seen this excellent report by Myles McNulty on Avacta that mentions (page 5) that Sona is a competitor for a POC test and explains it all better than I can.

I have shares in both AVCT and MERC so want them both to do well.

It looks to me as though Sona Nanotech are ahead of Avacta in the race to produce the first
antigen test.
According to their last new release, they have a working test and are now at the validation and
optimization stage.

Sona are also collaborating with Cytiva, which, I think, shows that there is more than enough
room for both Sona and Avacta.

Sona seem to be sourcing their reagents from their partner, The Native Antigen Company.

reagents, which, I presume is partly to supply Soma. It doesn’t sound as though Avacta have
developed their reagents yet?

Sona’s shares are already up over 1200% on the Canadian market.

You can only get exposure to The Native Antigen Company and Oxgene, which are both UK private
companies, via Mercia Asset Management, MERC on AIM, which, strangely, hasn’t moved at
all.
