Evening thornyone, the lecture (and some short piano demonstrations) was by a conductor whose name I'm afraid has evaded me. We were trooped through to the auditorium after drinks to listen to two pieces chosen for their contrasting styles, one by Haydn and the other the incredible No.7 in B Flat Major. I only have six pages of scrawled notes but re the performance (I checked, it was Isata's sister Jeneba), at 13 or 14 at the time her standard was already world class!
My notes say, Haydn...dry then Prokofiev...deranged haha! Sorry there is no link, it wasn't that kind of evening: learnt a lot though.
Back to hydrocarbons isn't it appalling that Metro Mayors like Andy Burnham and that evil dwarf Kahn have so much power? C-40 cities, one short haul flight every three years? Screw them I refuse to live like a rat caught in a trap!
