Ok cheers cheers Locnez. Wasn't sure as floating wind farms are a new phenomenon and I reckon going to be gargantuan. One things for sure, as they are so rare only a couple of companies have experirence of delivering so their experience will be very valuable. Shell's partner in Ireland, Blue Energy certainly haven't but then the project isn't due to be finished for 8-10 years. Plenty time to sell the Irish our non fracked LNG.

See above. I didn't realise that until a month ago, there was only one operational floating wind farm in the world and it us off the coast of east Scotland.

Floating wind farm technology is therefore really really is in its infancy and it is going to take off massively as it is a lot cheaper than sinking foundations onto the seabed, and opens up coastal areas where the water l it us too deep to do so. I'm thinking that a company that has expertise in providing a successful FSRU energyvsolution would be ideally positioned , having transferable skills to assist provide a floating wind farm solution. Or am I just dreaming too big again?

I've already mentally decided we are going in the blue hydrogen business with Massy, we could use that expertise further down the line to get into green hydrogen with Shell..

Didn't realise but until the start of this year, the only large scale floating wind farm was off the east coast of Scotland.

Looks like they are now proved and will soon take off making roll out far easier and much cheaper than having to attach to the ocean floor. As the article says, that isn't an option in deep water coastal areas such as around California and Japan, so all of a sudden wind power has become an.option that wasn't previously practical.

Nice one Sam, I'm wondering if it's common knowledge in Ireland that their energy supplies are at breaking point. We keep reading dire warnings in their quality publications but I wonder if it hits their News at Ten or their tabloids? Can't find anything in recent years in.the Irish Sun.

They are in for heavy snow next week and nothing has changed since the amber alert. The power station at Whiteingale or whatever it's called is still closed for technical.problems. The two peat burning power stations that were closed in December have not yet been converted to burn anything less polluting.

I'll be watching the weather in Ireland with interest. Not of course that I'm wishing icy weather and power failures on anyone...but if it happens I'll not lose sleep.

Early Feb has to be by next Friday, leave until.Monday 15th and it's past half way.

Tesla, just catching up. Blue ammonia/blue hydrogen can definitely be made from natural gas. Ammonia and hydrogen can also be made from coal and oil, and correct me if I'm wrong anyone, it's known ad Grey ammonia/Grey hydrogen.

Again, please correct me if I'm wrong anyone but I believe it is all the same end product, green, blue or grey relates to the type feedstock used to produce the ammonia/hydrogen.

Let's face it, these big beasts are all very keen so show off their green credentials so why not hook up with a leading CCS minnow, help build a wind farm and conveniently sell their own LNG during the transition and beyond as back up for when the wind doesn't blow. Let's not forget this is the Celtic Sea, not the Atlantic Ocean..

I used to think we were Tesla but can't recall what made me think that way, so.just put it down to a bit of wishful thinking. Alan Linn's recent mention of CCS and hydrogen made me think again we could be in on the act because I've found nothing in Spoton, PVR and LOGP to indicate they are interested in anything other than o &g.

Then again, he was speaking with his IOOA hat on rather than PVR, so was obliged to represent all stakeholders and not just those in the consortium.

Nice one Vegas. I'm still mulling over the Irish Offshore Operators Assoc hairman mentioning support for CCS and hydrogen. Could it be us? We certainly have CCS and as blue hydrogen is created from blue ammonia we could have access to shed loads if we ask Massy nicely.

That is what I was trying to say, I think pragmatism will prevail re China despite Turgenhat and IDS lecturing like the old colonial.masters they still think they are. I suspect Raab is merely making noises about Hong Kong and Urighurs just to look as if he cares.

Just another thought re China and Burma. I wonder if the government will overturn the recent vote to not trade with genocidal regimes? I'd expect them to as we really can't do without trading with China, though some Tory MPs are foolish/principled enough to think we can.

I'm thinking that it would be bad form to insist on trading with genocidal regimes so they are likely to.keep the amendment but say that evidence in China falls short of genocide. Burma on the other hand are less likely to get off the hook. Boris wants wind farms, he needs magnets if Burma are out, prices rise. If China are out, prices rise even.more.

Wishful thinking on.my part Paul, but I'm sure our board are smart enough to see the ESG writing on.the wall. They'll have realise that gas is merely being tolerated for a couple more decades and need to have an eye on the future.

The Chinese may well have had a hand in this. Whilst the Western world hectors, lectures and imposes sanctions, the Chinese step in as a the guardian angel trading partner. Obviously they will get favourable terms as the West won't trade, and having a dependent tame state on.the manor in the bargain.

Presuming everyone here has heard of ESG, the new big acronym on Wall Street? Green is big, with Biden, ESG and renewables taking centre stage. Conventionally drilled gas is being tolerated as a transition fuel for power stations as better for the environment than fracked gas, oil or coal.

The fact that we are dipping our toes into.hyrdogen is very positive and forward thinking indeed. O & G companies that don't have an eye on ESG are going to come a cropper in.the medium.to.long term.

They are 3rd in the world after China and USA. What's more, what with Biden, ESG and a general high moral tone being set by the world capitalists and Western governments, I suspect very much that the Burmese military will find sanctions aplenty coming their way soon. No doubt the Chinese will trade rees slyly as but it will invariably restrict the market to some degree.

With his IOOA hat on role, Alan Linn is representing all stakeholders, not just the Barryroe Consortium ( he is CEO of PVR) He mentions CCS and Hyrdogen but I've not been able to find anything relevant to Spoton, PVR or LOGP.

So, is he representing PRD's interests by mentioning or are their any other consortium members with their fingers in CCS or Hyrdogen pies I wonder. Does anyone happen to know?

Tesla, Vegas. Have to admit, I was put off by the 2008 date. However, I'm now of the belief that it's a positive. They seemed very keen in regards to CCS but I suspect the cost a deciding factor in it not being progressed. There was no mention of CCS being used for EOR. Twelve years down the line, this is a proven, viable option and Paul is able to present a CCS solution that would pay for itself and maybe a fair bit more...

Things are hotting up on.the island of Ireland due to Brexit and they would do well to become energy independent. Surely the less messy cross border trade with the UK, the better..at least for the time being.

Geowiz had been on the PRD board this morning being all doom and gloom. That is a company seriously going places, Carbon Capture and Sequestration for EOR at a time when ESG,Biden and all things green are ruling the world and all he can say is get drilling for oil

I honestly can't see what is not to like about being in Bloe or PRD at the moment. News is imminent in both that is likely to send the price soaring.
