No one knows what actually will end this war. That’s Wars, things will change from day to day but what happens at the end of this war will change European history.

The facts are, that there are 100,000’s people dead/bad injured, who are both Ukrainian and Russian and there will be many more before this war ends. This will cause resentment and anger.

I have lots of pictures of lads in St Pete, proud to be in their Russia uniforms but will now be dead, buried or badly injured? Those supporting VP should take them to their parents.

However, one area I feel you have missed on Poly is the area of ‘sustainability’. Could you please get people to think about this more? My opinions are below but I’m sure there are many more real investor good thoughts that could be put forward.

This is important for LTH, IMHO, and a good reason that I do not want Poly to split. For Russia, this professional company means they have a company that is looking after their land, and their people and will be training their RU mining engineers to a high standard enabling them to go on in the future developing Russia's resources. There is massive potential in Russia and Poly could/should be the company to exploit it. So for LTH, the dividend you getting from your ISA is your new pension enabling some of you who came in at the crash point to have an enjoyable retirement. I found the company too early but I’ll be happy if it buys me a new Focus every 5-6 years. ??

Every 2 weeks I speak to my Russian Mother/father-in-law. You talk of 20 yrs history, the flats weren’t built then, look on Google they are new flats. NW St Pete. I’ve talked for hours about the Russian economic recovery with Russians and in the past, I’ve defended VP agast them in my chats. I know more about Russia on my little finger than you’ve ever dreamed of. I’ve spent some time in St Petersburg and spoken to many people in detail about issues around the USSR and Russian Federation be they from Russia, Ukrainian, East Germany, Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia, etc. With being in St Pete and loving history I have been to many places of interest. For example, ‘The Museum of Political History of Russia’ was fascinating but revelling in what they wanted the Russian Public to think. Eg, A law passed introduced an eight-hour working day, a seven day week and work discipline. Being late to work becomes a criminal offence. Substandard production is punished with 3 years in a correction camp.

Within the UK History education system, from Year 7 onwards, we are taught to trust NO one source/supposed proof of information until we have found out exactly who they were writing the history for and why. Something the Russian Trolls are having great problems with as one person after another asks for proof. THEIR knowledge of history is appalling. Sending links to Russian news outlets which are pretending they are not Russian is not good proof! Nore the videos where the wallpaper, with an area they’re trying to cover up, tells you it’s not British. It looks like the St Pete flat I lived in and the bookshelves are a cheap DIY thing screwed together. Any idiot with a bit of common sense can see it’s all rubbish.

Pandamonia talks about a TomTom in a jet and we all laugh/take it with a pinch of salt but I’ve been in public trams where they’ve welded a rail, not finished it off or painted it. Those soldiers did what they were commanded to, all their lives have lived they wish they had died fighting rather than coming back to the shame they had from the UK. Thank you, Paul, at last someone who is using common sense and History/facts to back up their statements and you confirm mush that I got told by Russians in Russia. One person told me how annoyed the people of Siberia were with Moscow as they raise all the money, for them to spend their money on their own personal projects which do not help Siberia. Why do you think the smaller Baltic countries joined NATO. They too have a large % Ru population that used to run the Nuclear power stations etc. They know exactly how VP works.

Ru in 1932 created ‘Holodomor’, 3-5 million deaths & many millions more suffering starvation. Ru treats the Ukrainians as second-class citizens which is why the rape/pillaging’s etc. Would the Ukrainians forgive and forget & live with the RUs? I think not, as the Ukrainians still want to desperately save their country/relatives. So, Ru will have to do a mass population movement at the end of the war if they stop where they are. This is why the UKR people are dying and will continue to die. I have great worries that the UKR people will not stop until they get back what is theirs.

The Azovstal steelworks in Mariupol, IMHO, will be UKR’s Alamo. Both sides want each other dead, to give up and surrender and the shame that will go with that. Each UKR solder there will try their hardest to take the life of a Ru solder, if not 2 or 3, for their own lives.

Hi Mr TIbbs, I do agree with everything you've just said. How people can waste money by buying into the idea they have to impress their friends. I've dramatically downsized, apart from the garden but it is generally grass, 15 fruit trees and strawberry beds so it not too hard to look after. I'm not sure my fruit is cheaper but I know it's greener, has No chemicals and will last me 365 days a year on my porridge in the morning. YUM YUM :-)

I've accepted some time ago that things are not going to be better in the future even without the war. The war will make a terrible mess for many years.
IMHO The golden working days were in the 60s - 90s. They generally came out with better pensions, had cheaper houses and had fewer things they needed to buy. Often wives didn't need to work so it helped everyone at home to relax more. My children have far better qualifications than we had but I'm not sure they’re happier than we were.
I'm happier with far fewer things and I'd rather put my money into CEY than a new car. I can get above 50 mpg, 75% of the time, from my car so trying to save the world and I feel, win or lose with CEY things are more positive as cars are always loose.
I’ve read so much about gold and so many expecting it to rise, I’m not sure what to expect now but I’ve invested in CEY as I believe in it after reading and listening to people’s opinions.

Hi, Tibbs thank you for your wonderful words. I have great enjoyment reading them. How your words remind me of my youth, the park near our house, the loneliness after my mother died from cancer at 35 leaving 3 small children and someone who had issues raising them. He was a someone who had lost all his relations and dad who lost his soul in the war but he couldn’t complain as the whole town had gone through that.
IMHO life is all about mental fighting and education to give you the freedom to live the best life you can get. Some people have millions and others don't but if you can do your best then you can be proud of who you are.

Hi Spoonington – ‘My proof is what I see with my own eyes.’ Did you know that your eyes only see 20% of what your brain processes the other 80% is from your semi-conscious mind? So unfortunately that says nothing to me or answers the question totally depending on how it’s presented.

I’m NO huge fan of the USA and don’t trust them as I believe they don’t trust us. (We’re the only country who’ve walked in and set alight the Whitehouse). This is why it is such a stupid comment about the USA letting Ukr mess around with biological and chemical weapons. Would they trust a country where there are hundreds of RUs running around in the country? NO!!

I could talk/argue/discuss with you for hours but I don’t have the time in my life. You forget to mention why everyone fell out after the WWII because USSR would not give the countries back to their inhabitants and there were fears USSR was going to keep going forward and take more. Why have Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia joined NATO – talk to the people from these countries. Yes, they miss USSR but they are in the same position as Ukraine they have a large portion of RUs in their country. Fine but they don’t want an excuse from RU to take them back to the 1950s. They want freedom through hard work to control themselves, maybe even make mistakes but by hard work, they’ll try to make their lives better. Something they could not do is the USSR except when sleeping with the hierarchy.

I’ve been to Cuba and talked with the people there, another great country. How they look forward to being able to develop themselves as communism is relaxed and by hard work, they can make their lives better.

Thank you very much for your reply Mr Tibs there are lots of interesting and thoughtful comments.

They remind me of the 2 hr chats I used to have with a close friend who was 20+ yrs my senior, note I’m not saying you are that old. We’d enjoy our tea/coffee and go round in circles with Politics, Religion and world events. In the end, we’d come up with the conclusion that ‘there’s nothing as strange as folk!’ Even factual(?) written history has to be taken with a pinch of salt as it depends on who’s written it and WHY! Enjoyable debates are the best way to try and find some sort of answer and there never really is just one. Also, you have to have LOTS of free time and that's something I find difficult to find.

All the committees, charities, etc I belong to are all wary of me as I shake the cage by asking difficult questions because my views are different with me giving my time freely and they’re getting paid. However, I do realise I could not do what I wanted to do without the paid person so I HAVE to compromise.

I live with an Icelandic family for a bit, in the middle of nowhere. His job was to breed salmon fry and restock the rivers for the USA fishermen, (big money). They are very interesting/different people to the UK lot, (another country I’d loved to live in) so I’m not surprised at the interesting articles you brought up.

I personally love the Russian people as they're great to have a chat and laugh with. I was never great at their Rubbles change so got a pocket full of cash in my hand and they took what they needed. I totally trust them. I do read/watch both sides and know clearly that many of the West articles can be exaggerated but we do that to our own politicians so what's new! Everything you take with a pinch of salt.

However, there are LAWs in the world trying to make life better for everyone. Why cannot the ordinary Russian person have that? Invading a country on some grandiose fabricated scheme is not a law the world wants, so we have to somehow stop it? How can we do it peacefully I do not know. I am very unhappy about all the deaths and want everything to stop ASAP but at what price to Europe and the world will this mean?
