tas it will be difficult to know when to sell, whether you should before you get back to £12 which may never happen or may?
You've made some mistakes here which you cannot readily undo, so just stand back and consider things.
How long will tests be needed and important .... probably a while yet.
How good will the vaccine be .............. remains to be seen
Also remains to be seen how much will be available and how quickly it can be dished out.
You're in this share at £7 now where you were once happy to be at £12 this may not be a disaster from now.
Soon as anyone says "should get an RNS soon" or "why no RNS" or "the MM's are keeping this down" don't buy that share, maybe with a lot of that, even sell it!
RNS's come out to inform and keep legit, they are not for a price benefit, market makers might be dodgy but no more dodgy than many posters.
Don't rush into anything too quickly and you don't have sell all your shares at once.
It is good to sell when you have a better investment or some other use of money in mind but sometimes you just have to risk it.
Good luck
I guess you worked this out so will be correct you check anyway by doing a kind of dummy run sell. In my experience (12 years of variable successes and failures trading... but up well overall) it is better to go along with the rights issue if you can, however you will need the money and I guess you may not want to risk. The low price on pre RI share options does mean you can't sell some of them to finance you buying the rest. You could still sell some shares with RI options attached and that will finance you buying up the rest, if you get me? Do the sums and see what you think.
part of the reason is when the RI issue happens the share price will fall. This is because the capital of the company will remain largely the same although it will have the RI cash added. But proportionately it will have all the new shares added so will be divided up into more smaller values. I haven't time to work it out with actual figures but that might give you an idea of why a low figure is reached to sell just RI shares which will then have to be paid for and then will have a lower value than the current SP! Thats my take on it anyway.
some bubbling up going on here, hopefully and at last.
Results due soon?
So this morning we have a good set of results? I haven't read them fully but that's the headline.
The more reassuring thing for me is a return of a dividend, okay a bit less than last final div and even more off from full year, but still something. This company has always been a healthy dividend payer and is keeping it up with an early return.
NAV 31.3.19 434p sp May about 485p, NAV 31.3.20 414p sp May 160ish. Surely says something?
OK no div to pay and no longer 90% of N91, though thats in the NAV I'd guess, but still!
They are new directors, this company was spun off from Investec, so it is the first opportunity for them to buy. Maybe they are taking advantage of what they see as a good price. They were already working in this business when it was within INVP so maybe should know! Has been showing signs of movement today, so beginning to justify their risk!
This goes ex dividend 16/1
Paying 33p (18%ish)
It seems to have a problem with Prnceton (in possible bankcrupcy)
Who if the bankcruptcy is lifted will possibler allow $14 to be recouped
Other investments and cash make about $38 million
Capitalised at £28 million
Know nothing about anything else and gathered this from RNS's.
Doers this add up to an opportunity?
Don't have time to DMOR, probably won't rick it, but?
Perhaps it is an effect of the airlines, Easyjet and Emirates in particular commenting on fossil fuel use and carbon output?
Batteries are heavy certainly lead acid. Perhaps the moderner Alkaline, Sodium nickel and sulphur, and Lithium-ion do not weigh so much. Aviation fuel is also pretty heavy. Carbon used in production of units and electric is difficult to judge against fossil fuel emmisions on road or in flight, but improvements are more possible to reduce this carbon in long run than just keeping on running an aviation fuel you would guess?
So elctric could still be a future?
Will need to read results fully.
Market reaction seems as so often to steady results from anyone seems negative, they much prefer short term success and bull****.
Have been holding off buying more, am glad in a way I have.
Read results and buy in morning 9 ish I think? Though might yet impetuously dive in today.
No trading update, there was one 25/7 last year?
Price monitoring extensions?
Slow drift downward?
Not sure what it all means?
Results next month?
So I am missing an issue of more shares, which is only to institutions at 42.5p.
These should enter market at 1/7, diluting things by 7 odd per cent.
This seems to go from styrength to stength. I have had shares since about 450p back in 2009 I think, sold some bought some, dont get many at these current prices but still reinvesting my divi.
You have to be concerned about continental competition, and EUless status, but as yet has been inconsequential.
I kind of think it will remain that way so my recommendation would be cautious buying, over a period of time so you don't catch a peak price.
There could be an upside when things settle after the exit or not.
Recent panic management has knocked this back and I guess hence the downgrade.
Am never a fan off asset stripping hedge funds, selling and leasing back property often ends in tears.
But should you defend against that by totally reshaping your business around half cocked ideas about where your profits lie and so where they will in future.
Rather than focusing on what and where you might improve and realise profits from core businesses.
Strikes me with this kind of direction what is currently profitable will be screwed up in the near future and leave this business nowhere.
Bad day here, not sure why? Have hung in here since about 14p, sold off a very few at 46 and 48, not sure where to go now. Most things still look positive to me, am I missing something?
yep, this is a good rule, we can balme VBOD and even Ashley, but this was set to happen some time ago.
for me.
Though I blame Mike Ashley as much as anyone, he has been playing this for some time. He may still be getting what he wants, Debenhams on the cheap we will see.
SPD and HofF already on my banned list too.
John Lewis you have me and my family shopping now.
