Absolutely that's been my view for months. Helium would have said we have xxx shares to sell by xx date and the rest as they say is history. As the price has gone lower the daily sell volumes have risen to keep up the values close to target ££s as possible. I am still hoping that they have a threshold of shares they plan to retain at some point but no idea what that might be.

They seem to be doubling down in daily volumes now to exit before end of financial year imo fwiw. Without buyers they could drag this lower but that's the short term risk to end of March maybe, longer term should still deliver beyond the end of March. All subject to potential block buster RNS announcements that could come at any time of course.

Technology used to test Covid levels from sewerage could be used to gauge "how happy the nation is".

Prof Davey Jones, of Bangor University, said samples could measure factors from drug use to general wellbeing.

During the pandemic waste water has been tested to tell whether Covid levels are rising or falling within communities.

Now the Welsh government has confirmed the programme has been rolled out to all health boards and councils.

Prof Jones said waste water was "an incredible Pandora's box which just needs to be opened" and could be used to indicate levels of drugs, and viruses and microplastics.

It could also monitor levels of serotonin and other compounds, which could help show how happy people are in different parts of Wales, he said.

He says statutory water quality monitoring by regulators, the Environment Agency in England and NRW, has been "cut to the bone" and limited to "a few sampling points once a month if you're lucky".

Luv it..best news I have seen here for a long time and hope he never ever returns (shame that he is still active today on the MSYS thread even though he has no shares there either). While the rest of us have been buying DVRG at rock bottom prices he has sold out - you couldn't make it up could you and like you say even the market liked that news too......maybe he was our Mr50k?

The United States this week announced its own sewage surveillance system through the Centre for Disease Control.

“COVID-19 has been a huge learning curve for virology, and our wastewater testing has been able to identify new variants of the virus in almost real-time, so we welcome its expansion across Wales," said Professor David Jones from Bangor University’s School of Natural Sciences, who co-leads the development of the testing technology.

"We know that the faster the data can be produced, the better informed public health officials can be in making important decisions about the measures needed.”

Wastewater monitoring is considered a helpful tool by scientists, though legal and ethical concerns have been raised by some, largely relating to the handling of samples that contain genetic material, as well as how the data would be used - for example, if states were to impose lockdown restrictions on a certain area based on Covid levels in their sewage.

A programme developed by Bangor University to test wastewater for Covid-19 has been expanded to cover all Welsh health boards and local authorities, the Welsh Government has said.

The programme provides vital data on the prevalence of coronavirus in the community and was key to the early detection of the Omicron wave across Wales.

The process of identifying coronavirus in wastewater was initially developed by scientists at Bangor who have been working in partnership with the Welsh Government, Cardiff University, Dwr Cymru Welsh Water and Hafren Dyfrdwy.

The initial concept and processes are now used in work being undertaken across the UK, and 48 sites in Wales now have automated monitoring equipment installed to provide wastewater samples which scientists can test to give insights into the virus.

Health and Social Services Minister Eluned Morgan said: “The wastewater data has helped us to understand how the pandemic has changed and allowed us to follow the Omicron wave through our communities.

“With the help of the scientists and water companies in Wales, we have increased the monitoring sites from 19 to 48 and introduced automatic sampling equipment providing even more detailed insights into wastewater testing compared with the methods we originally adopted.”

Wastewater also has some exciting potential beyond COVID-19 and could be used to monitor the levels of many other viruses like influenza and anti-microbial resistance.”
