Scottology, you underestimate the power of the 'special relationship' SQZ have with BP. Don't forget the payback terms of our current deal, so with acquiring IOC's 50% via BP, I would expect them to be slightly more in favour of BP should this occur. Also makes licencing of the field so much easier. Add into the mix, the HMRC's interest and energy security for the UK. Could be an interesting few months. gla

Another clear indication that this MAY occur, is BP/SQZ wishing to move forward with the intervention and production of Rhum-3. Why do this otherwise?

Here's one to think about. What if, BP was to acquire IOC 50% Rhum, then look at a doing a deal with SQZ to pass that on to us. Guess both BP and SQZ have anticipated this move by "Trump The Dictator". If so the deal would be done with the Iranians within the 90 days I suspect. Iran need cash, BP can provide that and give us time to complete the transfer latter in the year. Not sure we could buy the field outright ourselves, hence BP's involvement as our facilitator. The RNS may be alluding to this imo.

Not a chance now, a placing may have been a strategic option 6 or 12 months ago, but no longer imo SDX have all the assets they need atm, particularly after the recent drilling campaign to make this easily a $bn company, without further dilution. That is not to say we will won't be on the hunt for more complementary acquisitions\licences. Great RNS's btw today.
