Sorry but incorrect, if the are held in treasury and NOT cancelled no trigger will happen. The numbers are the same, just the number of voting rights available are less.

Make you think why they don't arrange this, don't even need to execute it at this price, but have it agreed by the SH and board.
If I was AA, the share buy back would be an easy call .... put them into treasury and hold for use in next acquisition. At some point the shares have to be worth more than the purchase price, do they not ! ( mind you, is that what we think with every one of our buys)

So, some how we are now sat at 35% of our CASH ON HAND .... and importantly, still no debt

So now well below pre suspension price. Guess we will find more buyers now one hopes.

Italy40 is currently back to Dec18 levels, the FTSE however is back to June16.

The Italy40 has fallen 40%, FTSE 30% .... so are we looking at a further 10% fall in the FTSE when/if the UK go into lockdown.

Or, right now AA could take RRE private for around £160m- £180m in real terms as he's a major 30% holder. Once completed, snap up SQZ by mid summer imo. Sure our board would not mind TUPE'ing over too as non-exec's of a private company and all the trappings that may follow. Just my opinion.

AA also mentioned he DID not want to dilute and would like to see, as you mentioned £50/share. The two, dilution and SP objectives are counter opposites in what he wants to achieve, so which is it ?

If so, I see no reason why an acquisition of a well hedged company with low opex, no debt and cash pile would not be a target for AA. Then again, is that what RRE are already ! AA may need to watch his back and do more to support the SP. The interview didn't cut it with the market today, finishing down with both oil and gas well up ..... although the sell BoT was active once more .... humm !
