The thing is, we all know the results will not be on par with YE2019, (no different to almost every other O&G published results) so expect the market to use this to their advantage on opening. Any weakness and I'm adding even more .... the market knows where SQZ are going and its not to the kn$ckers yard.

What I don't want to see either is a gap up .... unless it's for at least 100p ... 221p open will do me fine.

Bottom line is, SQZ need to show pre-tax profit,(no matter how much reduction from 2019) and announce intention for dividend,( subject to SH approval of course ) and CoH of ~£90m together with a forward looking statement that puts 2020 firmly in the rear view mirror.

Agree too with yourself .... figures for all O&G players on like for like production across the globe will show substantially reduced revenues, however not all are able to show a profit ... lets hope SQZ can be one of those, as I see no reason why not given the companies news released over the past 12 months and the hedges we had in place, we may even be pleasantly surprised. R3 / Columbus Capex and caisson repairs in Q1 with knock on lost 45 days production, would have dented our cash pile as you mentioned, however we should still end the year with a very healthy ~£90m CoH vs ~£101m (2019) according to SQZ.... not forgetting we still have NO DEBT to service either. Then there is the all important dividend, that I see no reason why that should not be retained at 3p/s or even modestly improved upon.

As for "a bid between now and the summer..." well, imo that all hinges on R3 / Rhum field dynamics and would happen well before the summer.

You need to ask yourself as an investor of a PE firm or alike if you were to be presented with a target acquisition that in ~8 months would add 67% to is attributable revenue for ZERO Capex, have the added bonus of ~3.5kboepd and 100% ownership of several potentially lucrative fields, limited decoms, +£40m tax losses, with 2019 YE revenue of +£250m and profit before tax of £108m all for reported FAIR VALUE as it stands atm of £2.17p (£580m) .... not in 8 months time when fair value will be substantially higher, would you be interested right now ...... !!

I have already mentioned several times of accelerating NS M&A activity, today is yet another example, (one of many over the past few months) with I'm sure more consolidation to follow shortly .

Have Tailwind now had their fill .... who knows, as no details of the deal's price has been disclosing, but remember they are backed by PE.

So, we now have Tailwind, Kistos, Viaro, Waldorf, Remus, Neo, Enquest to name a few actively known to be looking to or already doing deals to expand their NS portfolio.

It is absolutely crucial, imo, for the survival of SQZ that we expand through acquisition very, very soon, otherwise we may become the main meal for one of the above .... or a light bar snack for the likes of Chrysaor or Ineos.

As you say Maverick, "tick tock...." goes ACW Grandfather's clock.

That is true, however that does not detract from lack of update esp as ......

RNS 21/1/21 - "As a result, R3 operations are now expected to continue into March 2021"

So March has ended and we are well into April, fwiw, I would say an update RNS is now required !!

Also, "expect transformative deals every year...", We are now closing in on 4 years since BKR.... esp as SQZ have been apparently active in this arena for many years now, I would have thought progress is imminent or maybe the train has left the station, not to return for another year! Who know's ... the fact that NO PROGRESS has been made on the SP since 2018 and completion of BKR deal is what niggles most investors I would say.... it sure does me.... but it is what it is I guess.

ACW et al, just get the deal over the line.... pretty please !

That is also true .... just hope that flow rate is as / above expectations and that both CoP of Bruce can be pushed out and 2P's for Rhum improved as that would be ideal. Alongside lowering our Opex too whilst waiting on North Eigg exploration well, which imo, should be fast-tracked following on from, one hopes, is a successful expo drill in H1/2022.

Although all that said, I do think that possibly R3, is being played as a strategic defense, as such will be the secret to unlocking improved and immediate value here, leaving others to ponder Eigg's future. aimo

Fair point, lets hope the R3 is completed and flowing as expected soon, but that does not detract from the dramatic slippage of timelines afaic, esp as the last communication from the company was :

That is a hypothetical question and as such could go either way .... the point I'm making is, atm, SQZ are not improving their reputation as a drilling / expo company, far from it. So how does that sit with Columbus / Eigg and alike only months away for market / investor confidence !

Challenge for the day. Anyone care to re-call SQZ's last successful drilling campaign, that came in anywhere near on time (or not) and resulted in a production well..... good luck !

Ok, we all know we are waiting on news, not least the farm-in and as others have mentioned various possible SP enhancing RNS's ...... but consider this as a primer for x10 event :

How about, given our recent RNS that CHAR move into the renewable / energy storage market with an IPO that is 100% subsidiary of CHAR, with the focus on pan-African investment not just Morocco. We already have skills imported from our AEMP deal .... why not hive AEMP off into the new company upon IPO, in these times of in-vogue renewables' has to be a consideration.... !!

Just a thought on the quiet Monday.
