Very sorry for anyone caught up here. Seems very drastic to call administrators when all they would have needed was a bridging loan of some sort. A gross over reaction in my view.

The board changes together with this latest RNS shows a determination to resolve the funding issue. Good news in my view.

Oh and CPX patents ARE STILL VALID as this was not the subject matter of the court case and the court did not make a formal order that the patents be removed from the patent register.

As someone who knows about these things, CPX will have a statutory period in which to consider the judgment and decide whether to lodge an appeal, usually 14-28 days from the judgment date. During that time NO COSTS ARE PAYABLE to the winning party and should they decide to appeal NO COSTS ARE PAYABLE pending the outcome of the appeal.

I am convinced that CPX will appeal. For a start, the legality of the patents was not an issue in this case as once a patent is granted that is proof of validity. The fact that the judge allowed this to become an issue is itself a strong ground for appeal, the only issue before the jury being that of possible patent INFRINGEMENT. It honestly looks like the judge and jury hadn't a clue as to the complex issues in this case hence a superior Circuit Court judge is needed to get a meaningful hearing. This is what will happen and Maxwell may well elect to settle the entire matter at any time.

A week is a long time in politics that say - that also applies to law.

Rick123 has nailed it. The weekend press will be all over this as there are many retail investors still oblivious to what has happened. Come Monday morning there will be a lot of new investor buying and with a positive RNS thrown in the sp will take the next leg up. It's certainly holding up nicely at the moment.

Fair point timbo but it's the composition of the jury which is relevant not the state. Also we're talking about possible American bias which includes red and blue!

This is not over, rather, in my experience this is the beginning. I don't think even Maxwell are celebrating as they were probably expecting the jury to find in their favour. Now it's time to get the case before a superior court judge who will understand the complex issues and be less likely to be biased against CPX. No guarantees but THIS IS WHAT WILL HAPPEN!!

Erebus55 you make a good point but you put your finger on it - this was decided by lay people. Take it from me that these cases are not suitable for jury trial. Too complex. I'd say 99% chance of CPX appeal. Also, could there be an element of CPX not being an American company if you get my drift????

CPX will need to look at the judgment carefully but if they lodge an appeal there is always the chance that Maxwell will come to some sort of compromise as they won't want this dragging on for another few years AND there is always the chance Maxwell could lose the appeal turning a victory into defeat. CPX now have nothing to lose.

Nobody has mentioned the right of APPEAL which would be decided by a judge without a jury. These types of cases are too complex for juries to understand so I wouldn't be surprised if after considering the judgment Cap-xx exercise their right to appeal. Will be interesting if the BoD mention this.

I am genuinely concerned about SonofaNun as he seems badly damaged by this share physiologically. I do pray for him as WHEN the funds land (i think they already have - mon runs to confirm) poor SonofaBun is going to have a totemic meltdown....
