This is the problem, Russia is tarred with the brush of its past, i bet many of you have not even been to Russia? the West propaganda machine constantly reinforces its past and wont let it move on, do as i say dont do as i do... you know..
@oligarch - thats a bit to much for every parcel just in case an overzealous employee doesnt like the look of it, ile just pay the difference next time, and yes your right the item could have been squashed from the side inflating the width.
Its a grey area and where does the customer\sender stand, for a start the customer didnt get carded until the 10th day, thats for 2nd class, thats a failure am i right? Is the parcel size measured by human hands or machine when in transit?
Im intrigued to know as this appears a very grey area, which i know RM just says 'slap a fine it regardless'. Are they able to use the width excuse as a reason for late delivery? This is somewhere RM need to improve massively, i went around in circles with multiple phone calls yesterday, frustrated customer and frustrated sender with an RM customer service rep like little hitler on steriods, talking to me like i was about to pull off the brinks mat, my god you should of heard it haha
Its sorted now but i will complain to RM, need to improve this if they want to be the best, was no excuse for not contacting me either they had all my details.
Here's a question for those with the knowledge (Oligrach and co) on the inside, a problem ive faced several times and maybe someone can tell me where i stand.
Item was sent 2nd class large letter, weighted and weighed correctly, fitted dimensions of 2.5cm width and about 25cm length and a lot smaller than the max allowed for large letter, only difference was is it was wrapped in cardboard and not inside what i call an official 2.5cm box.
It was accepted no problem at PO for delivery, sent 2nd Class Large letter, 9 days from the send date customer contacts me asking where is the parcel, i called RM quoted bar code from proof of delivery and they said still not delivered cant answer any more than that please wait.
10th day customer contacts me and says today she has had a card through the door saying item was not correctly labelled with a charge for collection (£3.50) Called RM who where making every excuse under the sun about why the item might be charged even that my online vendor who supplied the label may have not have even paid for the postage label.
Now the item was accepted and weighed, only thing i can think is that some has decided its now a small parcel even though the dimensions are correct because of the way it is packaged.
The small 2.5 boxes can have literally anything in them, so am i correct in thinking that its not the measurement of the box but the way it packed that they can then say thats not a large letter its a parcel? Legally this is a very grey area, 2.5 boxes can have literally anything in them and they know that, so is it the contents or the way it is wrapped that has caused this?
This is completely open to the person's interpretation when booking it in and then someone else changes there mind during the delivery. I have an unhappy customer because its 10 days from shipping date before she got the card and has to pay the fee to collect it, i am reimbursing here that and more for her troubles but i am not at all happy with RM for this, its not even the money side of things its the customer i want to keep happy and the rules seem a very grey area to me...
So is it the lack of official 2.5 box and cardboard packaging thats caused this or because they know its not a large 'letter'? It was weighed and paid for 385g and was £2.40p more than normal size large letter due to the weight so can easily it was weighed properly?
Im sure one of you insiders know the answer, i wont use large letter again now even if the dimensions are correct.
@Mary - yes my ISA is 50% up since the start of June, that nasty gap up got filled with a fast spike down in last hour today, a lot of buyers at that price hence the speed of it, i think another day or so and drift back into that zone, hopefully it will hold and it may be the bottom if the uptrend is to continue, not so sure though with that double top today.
fingers crossed.
Yes dumping them onto ii's at bargain prices who will then send them to AIX, your either in the club or out of the club, you know where we are

Big-Balkoney - the Papa of Ukraine :))
Re Unions statement, on Oligarchs post he didnt included the name at the bottom i skimmed and immediately thought to myself there is a very bitter individual behind this email, i wonder who it is?
only kidding haha
Cant you get those via email?
TMS it would be change enough keeping the Royal and losing the mail, it also depends how the union and militants behave going forward and the relationship between new CEO's i guess, this last episode really ought to be the last nail in the coffin of this out dated 'gangland paramilitary' mind set of the 1970s. If its not and there is no change at the helm ie big baldy, i can see a repeat here again in a couple of years when further BIG changes will be required.
Some good points there sharkz, i would say at best that the inflationary figure as a loss is already baked in here, be interesting to see what the group figures are as a whole.
I am surprised whilst this board is over run with Reds nobody from the GLS side of the operations has made a post here yet....
Alto maybe right as HL level 1 support is pretty appalling, i even heard they were going to exchange them for vouchers at Home Bargains, pay now buy later
@Sharkz - what sort of figures do you see as being seen as positive tomorrow? YoY comparison to this Q1 we will be down but by how much which will be taken as a positive? i think a lot is already priced in, might see a bit of sell off just to gain some more momentum for the next leg up....
