I think oil is only going one way from here assuming the world can keep Covid in check. Don't expect rockets but can see it creeping up to 45-50$ by September especially when lights are open.

What is a massive factor and we don't know about is how much has actually come off the market, Shale down massively and still dropping, Opec cuts and also many other companies with reduced production due to the current price.

Would love to know A How much is the world currently using B How much is the world currently producing.

Shell seem to have fingers everywhere including technology.....

I think its fair to say we got off quite lightly today compared to many.

Lots of good news with drugs solutions getting closer and closer and economies around the world reopening.

Lots of bad new with many USA states and other countries having spikes.

Where to next....Who know for sure .

My only thoughts are long term oil cannot stay at these prices as they are uneconomical for nearly everybody, companies and countries.

Oil will be needed for decades to come so the price has to rise when demand overtakes production and the world gets back to normal. Plus Shale is in bad shape......

The question is how much carnage before than and how long before then ?

Quite surprised they have only sropped 3%ish.....

Wonder how much our quarter loss is. With hindsight seems dropping the dividend was a smart move.

Also we are pretty heavily into Gas and other new energies.

Strange times when nearly ever oil and gas company in the world is running at a huge loss and will have to rebalance sooner rather than later.

Will the glut become a shortage next year ? Is Shale finished?

This has been a year that in decades to come will give college students much to theorise on ....

Wonder how Shale will actually come out of this and what USA production is .

Lots of stories production down by over 2 million and dropping more each week.

Rig count certainly still on the way down now less than 200 from 788 this last year.

So the current glut is the key and how long does it take to use this.
Some big investment houses are saying soon others years to clear it.

China full steam ahead, USE first gear but could stall and Europe ready to kick off.
Add to the mix the Opec+ cuts and the Shales industry in turmoil.

So the certainty is things are uncertain.
Shell world wide investments will help and the fact that they have many strings to their bow.

£18.54 is a certainty for me…….When…..Who knows ???

I have taken a small position in Shell based on what everybody knows, oil price, long term prospects, etc but just wondered if anybody could help with the following.

Where does Shell make most of its money.

Have they got any mega projects coming on board this year

What do you think are the major advances of RDSB over BP.

What is the riskiest part of the business going forward ?
