RE: 100% MANGROVE GONE CLEAR25 Sep 2024 22:23
Brombarb, no necessity to deal with a marketmaker, and in fact by coincidence I did a transfer of stock myself a couple of days ago in this way when I wanted to transfer my PANR shares in my brokerage account (Interactive Brokers) into my ISA: In Interactive Brokers using their "order book" service I placed my shares on sale at just a little cheaper than the existing quotes on the market. And then in my ISA I placed a market order for the same number of shares. It quoted the same price, so I accepted the deal - and a few seconds later Interactive Brokers confirmed the order was filled.
This allowed me to complete the trade without paying the bid/ask spread, though there was the small risk of another buyer purchasing my offered shares at the same time.
