AC... was just mentioning my state of mind... what are your thoughts?
As I mentioned I am continuing to hold and will top up... but interested in peoples opinions... or is that too much to ask on a board like this?
LL
Bamps, Yoda as always...
Why is the SP being hit again then with the good news coming, surely there should be some sort of impact?
I am just a lowly PI,. but have some knowledge of the space and it strikes me (excuse the punn) that we seem to go backwards on good news!!
LL
What's your experienced, whiley approach and thoughts then HJ?
Firstly, I will say that I am holding firm and will top up my holding (at this price it's worth the risk to me... DYOR)
That said.... Every town hall and web meet with SD that I have watched in anticipation, he talks about "we are here to create shareholder value".... it's ok building a world-class management team, and may have great potential (until ore comes out of the ground, that's all potential is) but what are they managing?
My better half keeps saying to me... dump it... it's not worth keeping...
Am I starting to feel like a frog in luke warm water as it boils and I cook to death... should I jump out?
We need some positive notions and movement from SD and "the management team" or it only gets worse... the RNS today is good, but wheres my shareholder value Shaun???
LL
@Bamps... appreciate your Yoda-like commentary as always...
Here's a question for you... with the increasing gold price ($2,400 when writing this) and an increasing reserve.... do you think there is a tipping point at which NM decides it is an asset worth keeping and push the go button??
any thoughts worthwhile!!
LL
Hi All,
Don't post much, as most of my thoughts people have raised already!!
Ont thing that sticks out in my mind though... from the recent town hall (and previous ones) is, as Shaun has mentioned many many times
"We are all about creating shareholder value"....
My question is this... is that for Directors/Wyloo who hold lots of shares/warrants at crazy low prices to make a killing when GGP is sold to the highest bidder.
It seems that as PI's we are just holding up the fort until that happens... quite usual for AIM companies I know... but still, getting frustrating as a LTH!
Any thoughts appreciated!
LL.
Hi all,
I get all of the comments below and agree with almost all of them...
The origin of the thread was to discuss when the SP has dropped from 26p (when SD talk stewardship of GGP in Feb 21) to now sub 6p, 2.5 years later and how he can continually comment about adding shareholder value - when we haven't added any...
I would say that gaining the 5% in Hav was a big plus - if/when we go to mine... it will put cash in the coffers... but what else? answers on a post card please!
Hey all,
I don't post much, but love some of the commentary in here - good and bad but need to vent!!...
Firstly, I am a holder - about 15% of my ISA is held in GGP (I have been building it with full contributions for about 15 years), so my holding is reasonable... I am in it for LTH (at present I think!)
Can someone explain to me what is meant by "I am here to provide shareholder value" in Shauns terms (recent presentation and Q&A in LSE vid (great job btw LSE))... he has mentioned that on the last 3 sessions that I have reviewed... AND still... there doe not seem to be any significant progress other than a downward trend that would make the keenest investor run for the hills!
Whilst I appreciate the struggles/frustrations that NC/NM discussions and process have caused... we are still descending at a great rate and looking at the models, I firmly believe we will be perfectly placed to start taking material in 2024.. fundamentally everything is sound... I do think we have gone overboard (jumped the gun) on building out the management team (and the expense incurred) a little prematurely, but SD had to do that to settle the nerves of bigger investors (that the ASX listing was geared to) that the ship was being steered in the right direction.
but again, the ever decreasing SP is like that stone in your shoe that you know will move around and sometimes be uncomfortable, but you know you will still have to fix the problem...
Time to ask... is Shaun the stone in my boot?
Toffers, I dont post much... and love listening to everyones comments / opinions... good, bad and ugly!....
This one made me laugh... "he keeps saying it's a potential Tier 1 asset, but it doesn't look as though Newmont see it that way,"
Of course they wont agree.... they are going to be receiving 70% of a world class asset... so they, of course want to downplay it's value to them as it will reflect on the bigger picture price for the acquisition... basic economics.... pay less to make more!...
My partners company was bought out by a bigger player and they downgraded everything as much as possible... the staff lost benefits and lots of other things came into the mix.... they have shareholders to report to and need to show that;
A, they have not overpaid for what they are buying
B, they forced the best deal they could get to reduce the impact on their own bottom line
Does any of that sound familiar here?
SD will big up everything they have as he wants top dollar, but I do agree with one of your comments... it's a dual edged sword at present for SD - he is slave to 2 masters - one the one hand he needs to try to keep current shareholders happy... or a sell-off and the SP will slip even more and thats no good for anyone involved. He needs to promote what GGP have for several reasons - that the value is respected, but also, again, on the flip - if they decide to dispose of Hav/GGP relationship, we have fist option to buy them out and we want to pay the least possible.
We have to trust that on the inside, they know a lot more than we do and is keeping all the "up in the air" plates spinning to the best of their ability.
We will know when we know... any amount of barking isn't doing anyone any good other than making the poster feel better!.... no one is here to lose money, myself included and I am invested quite heavily in GGP's success... lets get some REAL news and hopefully pop the champagne corks when it arrives.
Just my 2p!
LL.
Rotherby...
We actually own 30% of the project.. keep up!
LL
Avo... and you still own shares, even though in your opinion the only way is down??.... if that the case... sell... take the hit and leave us alone!!
Greatland Gold plc (AIM:GGP) announced Monday that three of Australia’s most highly credentialled corporate and mining industry leaders have agreed to join the company’s Board of Directors.
The appointments will amplify Greatland’s growth strategy and support the transition of the business to a gold and copper producer through the potential development of the world-class Havieron gold-copper project in the Paterson region of Western Australia, the company said.
Mark Barnaba, Elizabeth Gaines and James ‘Jimmy’ Wilson have agreed to join the Board of Greatland to help drive its growth and advancement to a leading gold and copper producer, the company announced Monday.
Mark Barnaba, eminent natural resources investment banker and Deputy Chair of A$50 billion ASX-listed Fortescue Metals Group, will join as Non-Executive Chairman;
Elizabeth Gaines, former Fortescue CEO and Managing Director, to join as a Non-Executive Director and Deputy Chair;
James ‘Jimmy’ Wilson, a former senior executive at BHP including the former President of its iron ore division, to join as an Executive Director commencing on September 12.
Barnaba and Gaines intend to commence in a consulting role with effect from September 12 prior to joining the Board as Non-Executive Directors on or before January I 2023.
Greatland said it intends to commence a process to undertake a cross listing on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) to increase liquidity and provide additional access to capital.
Current Non-Executive Chairman Alex Borrelli will assume a senior Non-Executive Director role as Lead UK Director following the new Board appointments on or before January 1 2023.

Hi all,
I have a 6 figure investment in GGP and don't post that much, but a few things to remember...
1. We have not yet took any gold out of the ground (other than in cores :) )
2. The placing to allow us to continue development would send a shockwave through small retail investors purely looking at the % drop, forcing them to look elsewhere short term and not the long term gain.
3. The DFS in December should provide significant support to the SP and ii's will be looking at that... banks will also look at reviewing ratings following publication - some investors purely buy on those ratings.
I am looking at GGP as a large % of my retirement fund and continue to top up periodically. With the other fully owned assets that GGP have, when Hav starts producing revenue, that will enable the bod to drive these other projects forward.
@Melville ... I agree, it is criminal, but SP will continue to be a chew toy for sharks, which is fine at this point for me.... I will benefit longer term as I am positioning for the future.
As always DYOR. but my 2p.
We all know that in the current economic environment, Lloyds will always suffer because the majority of it's profits come from it's mortgage book... it's one of the major reason the sp is stalling below 50... it it had a greater risk portfolio (far east investments, like, for instance Barc) then the II's would get more interested!
Just my 2p. DYOR.
simply put... we are manually (speeding up) doing exactly what happened the last but one time we crossed the galactic plane (when the dinosaurs went night night!!)... speeding up the evolutionary cycle of our planet!!.... think bigger picture - not in terms of decades, but in terms of millenia ... naturally the next time will be in 30 million years!.... but I am sure we can manage to screw up the planet a little faster!
Simples... the directors will "allot" the shares to themselves and then sell out the company!.... the extra shares will replace the loss in the SP to ensure they fill their own coffers... no confidence!
NO NO NO!.... further dilution of the SP.. I don't know what GL is thinking ... as to "rights to do it again" W T H!!!!..... at this rate the SP will be 0.5p by the time he has finished!.... AND.... a further delay in first gas..... No confidence!!.... with no vision of the long term plan!... time to get out me thinks!
Further dilution of the SP... because he couldn't wait!.... why would the 49% stakeholder sell!..... it makes sense! not good news!... Nom... what are you thinking?
We don't want any more good news for a while!... whenever we get good news the SP drops!! :)
Jezza... you are going to deep my friend... they wont understand!!!
