BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has vowed to review all agreements in the power and energy sector made over the past 15 years if his party is elected, citing widespread corruption during the Awami League government's tenure.

Permission has been granted to seek legal assistance to review all domestic and foreign agreements for setting up power plants. This initiative has been taken considering the Unequal contract.

The Power Division was given permission to seek legal assistance at a meeting of the Advisory purchase Committee at the Secretariat on Tuesday.

States must tackle fossil fuels, the world’s top court has ruled, and failing to prevent harm to the climate could result in them being ordered to pay reparations.

In a landmark advisory opinion published on Wednesday, the international court of justice (ICJ) said countries must prevent harm to the climate system and that failing to do so could result in their having to pay compensation and make other forms of restitution.

It says that a state’s failure to take appropriate action to protect the climate system from greenhouse gas emissions, including through the production and consumption of fossil fuels, the granting of fossil fuel exploration licences or the provision of fossil fuel subsidies, “may constitute an international wrongful act which is attributable to that state”.

Coal, oil and gas are the main cause of anthropogenic climate breakdown.

Christ this is symbolic statement by the new Government leader Tarique Rahman and actually kills off any dream of this project.

I just checked what the other user posted on here before he was removed and the information he shared seems to be correct and came from Khaledas Zias son Tarique Rahman who is the present leader of the BNP.

It’s not false and neither was it misleading, in fact it’s alarming what he said and should worry any investors/traders on this stock
