Thanks for your thoughts cautious, I agree with the general logic. The one thing that I would add is that until we know how effective vaccines are, or how long immunity lasts if someone has had covid, we won't have a real strategy. Right now, everyone has their hopes pinned on a vacccine (which in the best case scenario, as you point out, may not solve the problem for multiple reasons in the short term). But there is reason to believe that, like other coronaviruses, this one won't result in a lasting immune response, needing a booster every 4, 6, or 12 months. If that's the case, testing will need to be around for a long time.
