Thats the main reason stew i think it very likely that indus will get the contract extension .!?.

I strongly agree that demand for gas is unlikely to diminish anytime soon , the added possible bonus for us is that an increase in indias domestic gas price may make connection of our field to the grid more financially attractive !?.

But if we only have one contractual customer , gail, who sell all our gas to ramgarh power plant then i imagine the inports of gas may not affect us directly ?.

In the last annual report there is mention of a second customer for our gas but i can find no further comment about it , does anyone have any info about them ?.

Ironically india use more energy in the summer trying to keep cool than they do in the winter trying to warm up , all the power stations were encouraged by the government to maximise output during the recent heatwave , autumn being the best time for maintenance !?.

I would approximate our sales are down %50 at the moment . It is important to bear in mind that there are three gas turbines that are different sizes and could use different amounts of gas . Have we any info that suggests block rj-on/6 is connected to the gas grid in india (through gail ) ? , this would maintain a base level of sales even during maintenance of power plants . Results expected this month will hopefully give more detail .

This is true rob , we do . But in the absence of any meaningful information at present , what are we to do ?. Wring our hands together in endless frustration and disgruntlement , or, accept we are in a situation that we can do nothing about , powerless, like babies we are in the hands of our parents (directors) awaiting an announcement that will enlighten us to our future . And in the meantime there are many opportunities for us to do other things that are better for our blood pressure (mine) while we wait , i'm just off for a walk and will get chips on the way back and sit in the park watching the autumn sun . ta ta for now .NG

Kat, in some situations companies can get an extension for the economic duration of the field . Sure i read somewhere that cairn got 25yrs extension ?!.
