One expects the Y/E trading update will precede this Capital Day, so the expectation must be that the numbers are in good order, otherwise might receive a lukewarm reception for potential new II investors.
Covid was yesterdays disclaimer for poor performance. I expect the pressure to survive is again on LR, let’s hope he has a rabbit to pull out of his hat, as the SP chart direction over the past two years has to be rapidly reversed upwards.

More indicative of the likely direction of travel perhaps, especially as Y/E approaches?

So said the rns of 27 jan, so an update due some time after 31 March. I can’t help but believe that LR over the last months has in effect given up on publicising any ‘good news’ stories via rns, as the effect on the SP has almost always been the opposite to that expected. There is anecdotal evidence suggesting the company continues to beaver away internationally, but the COVID side of the business remains unclear.
I just get the impression LR has embarked on a mega sulk for having his ‘growth by expansion’ and associated options strategy severely clipped. All quiet on the proposed ‘meet’n’greet’ capital day to welcome potential new IIs. Coupled with a dire daily trading volume putting in question the rationale for continuing to maintain a stock market listing.
The longer this stagnation is allowed to continue, the less likely AR seems to be the person to reverse the fortunes here.
Oh and erstwhile chairman AR, take a bow for not visibly addressing the malaise.

Lionheart, I have mentioned the Taiwan side of the business previously and the potential risk to Ygen if China flexes its imperialistic muscle.
A while ago I also tabled a written question directly to LR in one of those investor-meet type presentations, and received the briefest of (dismissive) responses that the company has an office in Singapore. He is aware of the issue, but as to the logistics of transferring the business in the worst case scenario is anyone’s guess.

I cannot imagine meeting such a sad individual in real life, one who can do or say no wrong, pontificating from on high. Well who would have thought, as the markets take a short-term dip worldwide, Ygen would appear as a purely defensive play?! But then as LR has managed to steer the share predominantly in one direction only, I suppose there’s not much more southwards it could go.

Some time ago I tabled a question to our leader LR at one of those meet-n-greet internet meetings regarding our business interests in Taiwan, and possible concerns regarding the Chinese and their flexing of imperialistic muscle.
I felt at the time that LR’s response, to the effect that the company has an office in Singapore, did not really answer the question nor did he seem to appreciate potential bumps further down the line.
Now I have no ideas what percentage of this business is generated through Taiwan, but at some stage sensible, forward-looking contingency planning might prove to be advantageous for Ygen.
Obviously I wouldn’t expect LR or the company to discuss the minutiae openly, but it would do no harm to include a reference to the situation at the next results announcement.
Now, what say you, Dr Billy Chang, you have a vested interest here?

For a share price to drop a cool 50% from its recent high in sept 21 in less than six months is never a good look. For a Chairman and the CEO to remain silent and make absolutely no public comment or effort to either explain the slide or to reassure the market amounts, in my humble view, to a dereliction of duty and responsibility.
It seems that the one-dimensional business model previously operated with some success by LR (acquisition/ dilution/sale) was seriously derailed by at least one II recently clipping his wings in terms of seriously limiting endless dilution and options.
Since when, LR has shown precious little public appetite to generate “substantial shareholder value” (years 3-5 of the five-year plan, now in full swing). As if he has lost any interest or is on a depressive downward spiral of self-destruction.
How spineless has the chairman been in not publicly addressing this deterioration in shareholder value? Expecting investors to sit quietly and await for the next trading update doesn’t cut it any longer.
Both need to go asap. Which IIs are active enough to initiate positive change?

Bakky deserves credit for identifying initial misgivings re the Clarigene validation, but the conspiracy theory grew its own wings when the Co. refused/failed to respond to a shareholder.
Today’s news has even greater potential as it shows perhaps the Co. has been noticed by the government in terms of reliability and quality of product.
Sadly even today there are those who would seek to put a negative take on the announcement.
What next -Canadian truckers blocking and impacting the business in Canada?

Oh to be a fly on the wall if/when the proposed capital market day proceeds as announced. It seems to me the AR/LR dream-ticket may well have to use copious amounts of gloss to convince new investors to climb on board. Don’t look at the SP chart too closely, nor the dearth of any meaningful director purchases in recent times, or the failure to turn a profit. And was the aspiration to have a dual Nasdaq listing ever really a serious game-plan? Truly?
Suggestions on a postcard from posters here please, as to what might be included on the agenda for the forthcoming presentation.

Whilst I disagree with disclosure of personal details on a public forum, this instance does shine a focused light on the double-standards of an individual who wishes to destroy others on the grounds of ‘integrity and honesty’ (his words not mine).

I am still unclear what you are trying to achieve other than self aggrandisement. The stock market is riddled with companies that are or may be culpable of regulatory breach.

A greater danger, I foresee, is this company being subject to a management-led buyout at a derisory price with the current combination of low SP, market cap and generally pitiful number of daily share trades

Try as I may I really cannot get worked up over the daily Bakky show-stopper. I’m not surprised the daily rant got taken down temporarily yesterday, there’s only so many repeats one can stomach.
What is the worst case scenario here if they are found to have transgressed regs? Will the government really seek to heavily penalise a growing UK diagnostic company with expansionist objectives abroad?
Methinks not personally, especially since it has just been announced covid self-isolation is likely to be removed by end February and testing revenues will no doubt dwindle.
Plenty of positives surely lie ahead, why let a tiny communication lapse get in the way of a good company?

Lyn Rees would like everyone out there to know that he is not aware of any reason for the recent continual drop in the share price over recent times, like a tyre slowly deflating. The Chairman, a really nice chap and well-groomed like a City wide-boy, agrees with me, as do all the (ever-growing) board of directors. I hope.
Lyn is also aware of recent criticism on certain internet boards, but he says it is really unfair as he remains very busy, taking on new staff, selling product which is all legal, and counting options.
Whilst he is unable to give individual share tips, he believes yourgene remains a screaming buy, evidenced by the recent substantial purchase by the bean counter aka Barry.
And for those who say I should have sold at 16p, well why didn’t you take your own advice?
Anyway, keep the faith out there, my five-year plan is just a little behind schedule.
